Hello! Thank you for being here. Reaching out for therapy is incredibly brave but can also be a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping I can help you see your strength and worth while we navigate all the things life throws our way. I’m Kathy and I have been a social worker for 23 years now. I have been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for the last 16 years of that time. For the majority of my profession, I have been working in the hospital setting, helping patients find solutions to a wide range of needs. I have seen patients struggle in many different ways in life and helping them has also helped me grow as a social worker. I am passionate about helping people realize they are capable of more than they think. Everyone deserves to see their worth and I would love to work with you to help you see yours.

I believe every person has a story worth hearing and that healing can begin when we have a safe place to share it. My desire as a counselor is to walk alongside my clients with compassion, understanding, and hope. I have a special interest in trauma recovery and women’s mental health, including the impact of life experiences on emotional well-being, relationships, identity, self-esteem, and purpose. I work with those navigating anxiety and depression, addictions, sexual abuse and human trafficking recovery, parenting concerns, relationship and marriage difficulties, and life transitions. I also have a passion for working with pastors, ministry leaders, and their families. As a pastor’s daughter and pastor’s wife, along with my experience in church leadership and worship ministry, I understand the unique joys and pressures of ministry life, including the challenges of balancing service, marriage, family, and personal well-being. I provide a place where you can face the giants in your life, find healing, and move forward with hope. You don’t have to walk through this alone.

I believe counseling should feel like a real conversation with someone who is genuinely invested in helping you move forward. My approach is supportive, direct, practical, and holistic, looking at the whole person rather than simply focusing on symptoms. A big part of my work involves helping clients identify the beliefs, thought patterns, and experiences that may be shaping how they see themselves, their relationships, and the challenges they face. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship concerns, and performance-related challenges. I also have a strong interest in working with athletes around pressure, confidence, identity, setbacks, and the mental side of performance. Together, we work toward creating greater self-awareness, developing healthier beliefs and coping strategies, and building the confidence to make meaningful and lasting change,

I'm a dedicated professional with over 15 years of experience in the behavioral health field. My goal is to empower individuals to embrace their authentic selves and find comfort in their daily lives. I insist on personalizing my interventions to suit each individual's needs. I work mostly with young adults and adults (ages 18+). I believe that most of us would benefit from therapy at most points throughout our lives. We are social beings by nature and are simply not meant to struggle alone. We are our own worst critics so it takes an outside perspective of a loved one or a professional to help us recognize the strength amid chaos.

Are you so used to bottling up your emotions that you can hardly remember a time when you didn’t just keep everything inside? Welcome! I'm so glad you're here and making this decision to try something new (and maybe a little scary!) Therapy can truly be a sacred space. It's a place that can absolutely change your life, if you allow your self the time and space to heal. My focus is to see you as uniquely you: the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly. I believe we all have inherent value and worth, and I strive to see this in every single person, including you! We may have some changes we need to make and some behaviors we have to part ways with, but through this healing journey, I want you to know how valued and loved you are. To embrace life again like we were meant to. To forgive others and learn to let go. To change what you can and find peace with what you can't. I operate from a trauma-informed perspective - recognizing how the past has changed the way we see ourselves and those around us. I look at how early life experiences impact our relationships, attachments, emotions, motivation, and joy. I incorporate mindfulness to help with regulation and utilize psychoeducation to understand that what happened in the past can't be changed, but we have the ability to pursue healing and growth regardless. I am self-pay only for couples sessions ($125/session).

I graduated with my Masters in Social Work and Trauma Certificate from Simmons University in 2022. I previously worked as a crisis counselor providing care to both adults as well as children and families. During this time I saw a small caseload of adult clients until 2024 before transitioning to working as a community based therapist providing care to youth with problematic sexual behaviors. In 2025 I started to build up my caseload of EMDR clients and transitioned to office based work. I am extremely passionate about my work with EMDR and will nerd out when given the opportunity to share it. I take a holistic approach when working with clients and try to bring in body based and ego state techniques as well. I like to help make my clients feel that we are on equal footing (because P.S. I am also human) and recognize that they are the expert in their life and know themselves best. I do my best to be as transparent as possible without crossing boundaries. It is my priority when working with clients is to support them in a way that helps them feel comfortable and safe to explore themselves and achieve their goals.

I have also been an ordained Lutheran pastor since 1989. My professional career began as an Associate Pastor in a Lutheran church in northwest Ohio, where I focused on youth ministry, Christian Education, and pastoral counseling. I entered Social Work in 1995 when I began work as a Family Worker in a residential facility for hard to place juvenile offenders, and then worked in a few outpatient counseling agencies providing mental health and substance use disorder services. I have experience working with people of all ages on general mental health issues, such as managing depression and anxiety, and have specialized in the areas of PTSD recovery and domestic violence and sexual abuse victims and offenders. Throughout my counseling career, I have maintained activity in ministry. I was trained in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and also have had training as a Spiritual Director. My counseling approach is generally non-directive, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in a Solution Focused, Client Centered frame work. I can incorporate spirituality as much or as little as the client desires, from not referencing spirituality at all to fully engaging the spiritual dimension of life. I am an art therapist and LPCC-S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor). I have been working in the mental health and addiction world for over 20 years. I have had the pleasure of joining forces with children from the age of 3, to children the age of 87. I come from a family that has a long line of veterans and first responders. I have a strong passion for supporting our veterans and first responders but am open to partnering with anyone wanting assistance in life. I welcome any in person sessions as I am very much an empath and thrive when I can feel each person’s emotions in person. I own my own practice, Freedom Wellness Center LLC, in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Deciding to seek support through counseling takes courage, and the process of finding the right therapist can be intimidating. Building a trusting relationship with a therapist can take time and I understand how difficult it can be to be vulnerable. I'm Brad Justice, an independently licensed therapist with over a decade of experience working with adults. My style is direct and practical. I won't just nod and reflect your words back at you. We'll dig into what's actually driving the patterns, figure out what needs to change, and build real tools you can use outside of our sessions. I specialize in anxiety, burnout, and the kind of exhaustion that doesn't show up on the outside. I also have deep professional experience with grief, caregiver burnout, and life transitions tied to aging, whether you're navigating your own or carrying someone else's. I'm a proud affirming provider for LGBTQIA+ clients and bring both clinical training and genuine investment to that work. Therapy with me isn't about venting indefinitely. It's about understanding yourself clearly enough to move differently. If you're ready for honest, focused work and done with just managing rather than actually living, let's talk.

I'm well-versed in a variety of disciplines due to what life has demanded of me for my own recovery and wellness. I have spent time as a personal trainer, mentor, musician, and professional counselor. Having both personally and professionally navigated the domains of physical, mental, and spiritual health, I'm of firm belief that a good clinician will address every aspect of person, and not reduce them to a collection of symptoms or confine them to a label. It's my conviction that you can't teach what you don't know, so I've taken great care to prove to myself that my clinical expertise and training is validated by the road I've walked before I entered the field. I have a MA in Clinical Counseling from Ashland University, a BA in Theology from Malone University, PT certification from NASM, 12+ years sober, and 3+ years of professional counseling experience.

I'm glad that you're looking for help with whatever brought you here. I believe that therapy can be a supportive space for you and I to explore your journey. I facilitate this exploration through being attentive to you and your needs, noticing the effects of your experiences on your sense of self. We can also examine together how culture, society, and family influence our worlds, emotions, and identities. I've been practicing in school and community based settings since 2018, and received my independent license in 2023. Through working with a wide range of ages and populations, I've came to appreciate how hurt and pain are hard to carry alone, and I'm honored to be present on that journey with you. I also offer services in both English and Mandarin/Chinese. Sliding fee appointments for those in need.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Ohio. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Ohio.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Grief, is filtering therapists in Ohio that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
