I became a counselor because I believe the pieces of our individual stories often become so tangled that it takes someone else to help us sort out and realign our lives. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervision designation (LPCC-S). I have been in private practice for over a decade, primarily helping clients who are struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating. I also work with individuals struggling with other issues including grief, trauma, and anxiety.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can talk about your concerns, your life situations, and your goals. We can get to know each other a bit, and you can decide if I'm a good fit for your therapy needs. Our conversation may jump around; it may feel relieving to get some of what's on your mind out into the open. Whatever you want or need to say, there will be no judgment!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Regardless of your clinical concern, I use a multi-dimensional approach, incorporating medical professionals and dietitians, school and family support persons, and other community resources as necessary. I use evidence-based treatment but prioritize each client’s unique strengths and needs in order to make the experience individual.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are uncertain of how or where to begin with making peace with your body, therapeutic work with me may be perfect for you. If you have experienced loss, traumatic events, or changes in life that you just can't seem to process, therapeutic work with me may be helpful. If you are willing to be honest with yourself, push yourself, and risk feeling differently (sometimes "better" is scary!) about life, I would love to meet with you virtually.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

While I incorporate multiple modalities (CBT, IFS, DBT) into my practice, I am, above all, evidence-based person-centered.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as the foundation for my work with clients who struggle with disordered eating and eating disorders.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I incorporate IFS with clients who have experienced multiple traumas and therefore, are not good candidates for EMDR therapy.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have found DBT to be a useful intervention in changing behaviors for clients who have chronic eating disorder behaviors.
