I am a licensed clinical social worker providing client centered, solution focused therapy for over 25 years with an established private practice since 2005. In my practice, my goal is to provide a supportive environment which allows clients to identify and achieve their goals.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I provide training and consultation services regionally and nationally on trauma informed care, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), sexually harmful behavior, vicarious trauma and self-care.
Traumatic experiences are, unfortunately, far more common than many people realize—and their impact can linger in ways that affect how we think, feel, and relate to others. For 16 years I have specialized in helping individuals process and heal from various types of trauma, including interpersonal violence and sexual assault, childhood abuse, and religious trauma. I also provide support for parents caring for children with complex medical needs, recognizing the unique form of secondary trauma, chronic stress, and emotional exhaustion that caregiving can bring.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed therapy. I incorporate practical tools for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and building resilience, while always honoring your pace and your story. You can expect a space where you are believed, respected, and supported.
Healing is possible. Whether you are working through past trauma, navigating the challenges of caregiving, or trying to rebuild trust and stability, there is hope. I would be honored to walk alongside you- not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and move toward relief.

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based out of Morehead City, North Carolina. I have my Masters in Counseling from East Carolina University and have been working in this area for the past 14 years. I have mostly been working with adolescent and young adults during this time, but can work with any aged client that is ready to begin their counseling journey.
I come from a first responder family, and it shaped how I understand the people I work with. I built my practice specifically for law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatchers/911, and veterans — people who carry things most providers have never had to sit with, let alone treat. I'm not interested in being another therapist who nods along without understanding the job. I get it, and that changes what happens in the room.
Not all the work is about the job, either. Plenty of clients come to me for personal issues — relationship struggles, childhood stuff, grief, anxiety, things that have nothing to do with the badge or uniform. Being from this world just means I already understand the context you're operating in, whatever you're bringing to the room.
I use evidence-based treatments — including EMDR, Brainspotting, and Prolonged Exposure, among others — to help clients process trauma that others may not fully understand. I also draw on Critical Incident Stress Management and Psychological First Aid for cumulative exposure, not just single-incident trauma. Whether it's an officer-involved shooting, years of runs finally catching up with someone, or something from long before the job started, I know how to work with it directly instead of dancing around it.
My style is direct and less formal. I'm not going to make you explain your job to me or treat your coping mechanisms as automatically pathological. I'll call things what they are and won't waste your time with fluff. I work entirely via telehealth — meet with me from home, your vehicle between calls, wherever gives you privacy. If you want a therapist who won't flinch and actually understands the world you operate in, I'd like to work with you.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each individual from ages 6 through 50.. I see neurodivergent clients, LGBTQIA+ challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, depression with a holistic approach to healing with psychoeducation on brain-body connection and tools to support the nervous system. As a neurodivergent individual, I am naturally attuned to the challenges and strengths of neurodivergent clients … which leads to greater patience, validation and empathy for my clients.
I draw from science-based therapies to support healing on both emotional and nervous system levels. This may include trauma-focused work, nervous system regulation skills, mindfulness, somatic (body-based) practices, cognitive and behavioral strategies, and practical tools to support everyday life.
Together, we will work at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you. Therapy may focus on processing experiences, building emotional regulation skills, increasing mind-body awareness, strengthening boundaries, and creating healthier patterns that extend beyond the therapy room.

Trauma has haunted you for years. It’s left you with nightmares and flashbacks. It’s caused you to distrust others and push them away. It’s made you feel broken and hopeless. You’ve tried everything you can think of to shed the weight of the past. You’ve read the books, tried the life hacks… You may have even talked to a therapist. But now, you’re out of options. Nothing has helped you transition from being a survivor to someone who’s truly alive. And you’re all talked out. No matter how many times you tell your story, nothing changes. The search for relief is exhausting. This might be your last shot at getting help.

Minds are designed for thinking and it is human nature to make connections with others. I am dedicated to helping a client slow down to contemplate, explore, and become self-aware of their own needs, personal well-being, interests, strengths and how to relate to others. Do you feel stuck worrying, the thoughts never stop? Hi, I’m Kristin, and I work with adults (ages 18-40) facing stress related to managing responsibilities and navigating relationships.
I received my Masters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I assisted others learn healthy ways to cope. I spend my free time with my family hiking, boating, and enjoying any other activity that involves being outside.
I look forward to helping you navigate life circumstances, as you become a more at ease version of yourself.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally unsteady, or unsure how to move forward — you don’t have to carry that alone.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of North Carolina State University. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and questions of direction or purpose. Many of the people I support feel capable and motivated — yet internally worn down, struggling to feel grounded, present, or confident in themselves.
My primary focus is helping clients stabilize emotionally and mentally — so you feel more anchored, regulated, and clear. From that place of steadiness, we begin to explore how you can grow into the fullest version of yourself, making the most of your strengths, values, and lived experience rather than trying to become someone you’re not.
Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing — it’s about creating a solid foundation where clarity, confidence, and meaningful change can naturally emerge. For those who find meaning and strength in their Christian faith, I welcome that as part of our work together — though spirituality is never required or assumed. You bring what matters to you, and we build from there.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I use evidence-based treatments backed by research, not trends, and I believe therapy should help you understand why you're struggling and what will actually help you heal. My style is compassionate, direct, collaborative, and focused on meaningful progress rather than endless sessions.
