I’m often asked, “What made you want to become a therapist?” The answer is simple: I genuinely enjoy helping others. I understand that life can be difficult because I’ve faced my own challenges along the way. My journey hasn’t always been easy, and therapy was an important tool that helped me find support, work through difficult experiences, and continue moving forward.
I believe therapy is a journey, and you shouldn’t have to walk that journey alone. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, encouragement, and a safe space where you can be yourself, explore your thoughts and emotions, and work toward becoming the person you want to be.
I’m passionate about helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges. I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, life changes, relationships, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I believe that change is possible and that everyone has the ability to grow.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and have worked in the mental health and child welfare fields for more than 30 years. My years of experience have given me the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and through many different challenges. Most importantly, those experiences have taught me the importance of meeting each person where they are and recognizing that everyone’s journey is unique.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying the outdoors, getting lost in a good book, or spending time with my energetic and adorable miniature schnauzer, Felix.

Whether you are managing daily responsibilities, adjusting to life transitions, or simply trying to find your footing, you do not have to go through it alone.

If your brain never fully shuts off, you overthink everything, or you feel mentally exhausted even when life looks “fine” from the outside, you’re in the right place. Hi! I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed clinical addiction counselor (LCAS). I went to graduate school at the University of Vermont and have provided therapy services for more than 30 years in outpatient mental health settings as well as in inpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment settings. I'm in long-term recovery from alcohol and opiate dependence. Also, I am developing a specialty in working with lawyers. Fun fact: I worked on an offshore lobster boat in the Gulf of Maine for 4 years.
My passion is to work with those who have struggled with the challenges of life; trauma, addiction, relationship issues, mood disorders, grief, attachment, career issues or any stress contributing to anxiety. They may have sought therapy in the past and have become discouraged, for whatever reason. The foundation of therapy is the therapeutic alliance. When one suffers various disorders, life becomes dull and motivation to live according to one's values instead of one's fears is threatened. It is critical that the therapist be attuned to the worldview of the client to facilitate healing, self acceptance and self compassion. Pain is inevitable while suffering is optional.
