I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) & Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), who is a passionate advocate for emotional wellness and mental health awareness. I’m Lisa Duncan, LCSW, and I work with adults who are wondering, “Why am I not myself anymore"? You can look like you’re holding everything together on the outside while feeling completely different on the inside. Maybe you overthink conversations, second-guess yourself, feel anxious all the time, or live in survival mode. This can happen after unhealthy relationships, especially when there has been manipulation, control, constant criticism, or emotional invalidation. Over time, those experiences can affect how you see yourself, your decisions, and your ability to trust your own instincts.
I have a particular interest in helping people recover from emotionally unhealthy, manipulative, or abusive relationships, including experiences commonly described as narcissistic abuse. Let's figure out what *you* actually want and need. I also work with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and major life changes.
My approach is empathetic, practical, and collaborative. Therapy with me is a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s happening, look for patterns, make connections, and sometimes challenge the way you’re looking at a situation. I’ll give you tools and strategies you can actually use in your everyday life—not just things that sound good in a therapy session.
I use CBT, strengths-based, solution-focused, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches, but I don’t believe therapy should feel like following a script.
We can work on understanding why you responded the way you did, recognizing patterns that may have developed as a way of coping, rebuilding trust in yourself, and learning how to set boundaries without feeling guilty or constantly wondering if you’re doing something wrong.
You don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly what you need. You may just know that something isn’t working anymore, That’s enough to start. We can figure out the rest together.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, trauma, and psychosomatic symptoms. My work focuses on helping clients understand the connection between their emotional experiences and physical symptoms, particularly when distress shows up in the body as pain, tension, fatigue without clear medical explanations. I take an integrative approach to therapy, combing several modalities to support clients in identifying patterns of overthinking, emotional reactivity, and relational dynamics that may be rooted in earlier experiences. I support clients in helping them build practical skills for regulation and coping. A central part of my work involves nervous system regulation and helping clients feel safer and more connected within their bodies. I believe that meaningful change happens within a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for each client’s pace. I aim to create a space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment, develop greater self-awareness, and build a stronger sense of autonomy and self-trust.
Across all ages, clients who thrive with me appreciate a blend of insight‑oriented work and practical skill‑building. They value clear communication, gentle accountability, and a therapist who helps them connect their values to achievable goals. My ideal clients are ready to engage in the therapeutic process, even if they’re unsure where to begin—they simply know they want to feel better and create healthier patterns in their lives.

When we experience loss, unwanted change, or trauma it can shake our foundations and lead to pain, confusion, and heartache. While we can't prevent life from happening or undo what we've been through, my practice is based on a deeply held belief in the ability for all of us to heal and resume living with meaning and purpose. Recognizing where you're feeling blocked, stuck, or hurt will inform where we focus our efforts. Granting ourselves full permission to feel and express the depth of our feelings is instrumental to healing and growth.
My role is to bear witness to your experience while offering support and encouragement as you recognize and process your feelings. Through curiosity, presence, and attunement I seek to facilitate individual's getting back to living through effectively addressing, expelling, and moving past what has caused pain.
