Hi, I'm Jackie.
One question stays with me before every session:
If I were sitting where my client is sitting, what would help me feel safe enough to come back?
That question shapes how I show up as a therapist.
Therapy changed my life because it gave me something I didn't know I was missing, a place where I didn't have to perform, explain, or earn my worth. That's the kind of space I hope to create for every person I work with.
I don't believe people are broken.
I believe people adapt.
One quote has stayed with me for years because it captures that idea better than I ever could:
"I lived in a glass house into which my mother could look at any time. In a glass house, however, you cannot conceal anything without giving yourself away, except by hiding it under the ground. And then you cannot see it yourself, either."
I think many of us grow up in our own version of a glass house. Maybe you became the responsible one, the peacemaker, the perfectionist, or the person who learned to stay quiet. Those weren't flaws, they were ways of surviving.
The challenge is that what helped us survive then doesn't always help us live now.
That's where therapy begins.
Together, we'll become curious about the patterns you've been living, not because I want to fix you, but because I want you to understand yourself.
My approach integrates attachment theory, parts work, CBT, DBT, and nervous system regulation because healing isn't about treating isolated symptoms. It's about making sense of your story so you can trust yourself, build healthier relationships, and create a life that feels more like your own.

I have found that many people enter therapy not because of a complex mental health issue but because of a general feeling of life not being what they would like it to be. I've been there. Many years ago I embarked on my own personal growth journey and I believe that has made me a more compassionate, empathic therapist.
I am very active in the therapeutic process and give direct feedback and suggestions for implementing lifestyle changes.
I have been a therapist for over 30 years, specializing primarily in depression/anxiety, relationship issues, and addiction/alcoholism. I believe that pain shared is pain lessened and that people can and do recover from issues that have been troubling them for years. I work with individuals and couples. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach.
Think you're ready to start making the changes that you've been thinking about for quite some time? Call me. Let's talk about it. Evening and weekend appointments are available.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting and vulnerable task, whether you're new to the process or a seasoned pro. As you're scrolling through endless profiles and bios, you may ask yourself "Do I belong here?".
I became a therapist to give people the safe space, supportive relationship, and perspective that they may not get in other aspects of their lives. I also hope to challenge the stigma that may have discouraged them from engaging in the therapy process.
I am a non-binary person of color who has worked in the behavioral health field for over 10 years in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings as a consultant, therapist, and counselor. Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of working with clients of various ages, genders, ethnicities, and identities. My specialties include LGBTQ+ issues, ADHD, Parenting, School/Work issues, and Emotional-Behavioral Disorders.
I have several years of experience treating individuals, families, and adolescents using a holistic, empathic, and trauma-informed approach. Watching friends and family struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues fueled my passion for helping those who struggle with these difficulties from a place of understanding, patience, and empathy. I received a BA in psychology first, which led to obtaining a substance abuse certificate. I gained experience working with families and individuals and, after some time, I was ready to further my education and obtained a Master of Social Work. This helped me expand my clinical skills and learn more targeted therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychoanalytical care, and art therapy. I found these approaches are a great synthesis of neuroscience, trauma, and creativity.
I want to meet a client where they are at, therefore where one wants to start. I am genuine and authentic and want to assist someone to get the help and resources they may need to be and feel better as a person overall. I enjoy teaching skills and am constantly learning new skills and techniques to be a better therapist. I also may push at times in order to assist one to explore further what it is they are experiencing.
Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I graduated in 2019 from Clarke University with my Master's of Social Work.
I spent my undergraduate years shadowing and volunteering at a sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy center. I completed research in the areas of trauma, decision making, and intimate relationships.
I completed a job shadow with a Victim Witness Coordinator, where I also conducted a year long research project on domestic violence in rural communities. During that time I completed an internship at a combined homeless shelter and food pantry. I then completed a secondary internship at a local community mental health center.
I spent four years working at that same local community mental health center where I provided crisis services, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. I was able to earn my license during that time. I transitioned into school based social work and provided case management and therapy services in the local school setting.
I now have opened a private practice called Resiliency Counseling, which is an individualized practice focused on providing individual, couples, and family therapy services to help people who are wanting to improve their mental health in a safe, accepting, and trusting environment. I always strive to meet my patients where they are at in their mental health journey and tailor my approach to what they need. I approach therapy as a mix of processing, guidance, and challenging, in order to help a client identify, process, and reach their mental health goals.
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of yourself? You don’t have to figure it all out alone. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, self-esteem struggles, and major life transitions especially when life feels different than expected or you’re struggling to figure out what comes next.
Maybe you overthink everything, second-guess yourself, feel like you’re never doing enough, or find yourself constantly trying to keep everything together. Maybe you’re going through a transition that has left you questioning who you are, what you want, or where you fit.
Therapy can be a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making changes that feel meaningful and realistic.
My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and direct. I want you to feel comfortable being completely yourself while also feeling supported in challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can start exactly where you are.
Hi! I'm Sharonda, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Whether you've never tried therapy before or are considering getting back into it, give yourself a pat on the back for taking this first step! I know how hard it can be to prioritize your own mental health, especially when life gets hectic. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I believe in meeting my clients where they're at and providing them a space each week where they can feel heard, understood, and cared for. I believe therapy shouldn't feel like another chore on your to-do list. It should feel like the "me time" you need (and deserve!) to set down the weight of everything you've been carrying so that you can start feeling like yourself again. Whether you're in the middle of a difficult time or grappling with a past that is holding you back, I will be there with you every step of the way to help get you "unstuck" and back to the life you want to be living.
I have experience working with adults, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem and key life transitions. I provide a safe and accepting space where you can be open and honest with the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. Prior to returning to school for a counseling degree, I worked in the corporate and nonprofit sectors for many years as an editor and writer and I bring that unique perspective and experience to my work with clients. My multicultural background is also an asset in working with diverse populations.
I utilize a strengths-based approach when working with clients while creating a safe and accepting space where you can be open and honest with the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. Because I view therapy as a collaborative process, I will be checking in with you throughout our time together to review your initial goals for therapy and to ensure that you continue to feel heard and understood in therapy.

My approach blends somatic (mind-body) therapy with nature-based practices to support deeper awareness, emotional regulation, and lasting change. I believe healing happens when we learn to listen to our bodies, not just our thoughts. I am committed to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals, where your full identity and experiences are welcomed and respected.
I'm a licensed mental health provider dedicated to helping individuals improve their overall well-being through evidence-based practices. With a commitment to ongoing professional development, I stay updated on the latest research and best practices, ensuring that you receive the most effective support possible. I am able to see the strengths in most of my clients; for example if they are poor students and failing school, I can see their resilience in other areas. I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression.
The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake."
I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions.
My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.
