I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression.
The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake."
I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions.
My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.
I work with individuals desiring positive life changes through a collaborative process. Specializing in assisting health care professionals manage their own mental health under the unrelenting demands of their career. Also, Individuals who find themselves unexpectedly thrust into caretaker responsibilities that require them to learn how to re-balance their lives. Three decades of experience as a professional working in mental health services makes me uniquely qualified to assist, not only health care professionals, but a wide variety of individuals in need.
Through a client-centered, feminist, and trauma-informed lens, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, and collaborative space for healing and growth. Therapy sessions will be designed based on your particular needs and your unique style of working, and are adjustable based on how you are doing the day of the session. I know that clients are the experts in their own lives, and that my work is to provide support while they are navigating their challenges.

Hi all, I’m Sara! I’ve spent the past 9 years working in the mental health field, across inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, and residential levels of care. I am licensed in 4 states (MN, IL, WI, and MA)
I strive to create a space where individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences with curiosity and self-compassion. My passion for this work comes not only from professional training but also from personal experiences that have deepened my appreciation for resilience, compassion, and authentic human connection.
I also believe therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time—when appropriate, humor can be a meaningful part of the healing process and help make difficult conversations feel a little more approachable. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing OCD, anxiety, and hoarding disorder, and frequently use evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients build confidence in facing fears and reclaiming their lives.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and burnout. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical coping skills, and work toward goals that align with your values and vision for your life.
Hello. Thanks for stopping by. Do you ever feel like life is one hurdle after another? I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as will an an Addictions therapist. Let's work together to break down barriers. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression alcohol abuse or other life struggles, I provide a person-centered approach that emphasizes strengths and understanding how symptoms developed so that they can be reduced or eliminated. At times I introduce art therapy exercises to help clients express themselves.
Life can become complicated when the strategies that once worked stop working. Whether you're navigating a recent ADHD or AuDHD diagnosis, struggling with burnout, anxiety, depression, or major life changes, it can feel like you're trying to solve a puzzle without all the pieces.
As someone who was diagnosed later in life, I understand both the relief and the disruption that can come from finally having an explanation for lifelong challenges. That experience has shaped my approach to therapy and deepened my appreciation for the resilience people develop while trying to navigate a world that wasn't designed with their needs in mind.
My work is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique nervous system, unique strengths, and unique challenges. Rather than treating a label, I focus on understanding you as a whole person. I draw from established therapy approaches, neuroscience, and our growing understanding of the connection between the brain and body. I also believe that therapy doesn't have to feel cold or clinical. Humor, relatable analogies, and practical tools are often part of our conversations.
I work primarily with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted from constantly trying to keep up. Many are navigating neurodivergence, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the loss of skills that can accompany chronic stress and burnout. I also provide an affirming space for clients in kink, polyamorous, and other consensual nontraditional relationships.
My goal is to help you better understand yourself, reduce overwhelm, build sustainable strategies, and create a life that feels more authentic and manageable. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can work through it together, one step at a time.
Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Illinois. I have been working with children and families for almost 20 years. I also work with people of any age with chronic health issues, trauma, people of all ages with autism and LGBTQ+ clients. I also work with people with developmental disabilities. I am looking forward to working with you.
With 17 years of experience in diverse therapeutic settings, I bring both depth and perspective to my work as a psychotherapist. My training is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with additional expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of helping individuals navigate depression, anxiety, stress, and the complexities of relationships. I have a particular interest in supporting women’s mental health, drawing on my clinical knowledge and life experience to create a therapeutic space that is both compassionate and effective. I offer a mature, steady presence—one that balances warmth with skill—to guide clients toward growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
As a mental health therapist, I work with veterans who have mental disorders, individuals from all populations experiencing substance use disorders, along with PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, and grief. My impact lies in providing compassionate, evidence-based care, helping clients build resilience, develop coping skills, restore hope, and achieve stability so they can lead healthier, more meaningful lives.
As a licensed therapist in Florida, I provide a warm, supportive space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, as well as other life or mental health stressors.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative and personalized to each individual’s needs. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to process difficult emotions, build healthier coping skills and reconnect with a sense of balance and confidence.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling with stress or past experiences, or simply looking for support through a difficult season of life, my goal is to walk alongside you and help you move toward healing, growth and lasting change.
I am able to see the strengths in most of my clients; for example if they are poor students and failing school, I can see their resilience in other areas. I am opened minded and non-judgmental, as long as one does not advocating harm to themselves or others. I hope to identify what's working for you, as far as support systems, coping skills and values.
Entering the world of personal psychotherapy can be an exciting, yet a foreboding area, if you've not had that opportunity previously, I believe that my first goal is to be welcoming to each and every person. Over some weeks, we will explore your inner pursuits which will help you feel more comfortable in who you are and who you desire to be. For me personally, being alongside you, is a privilege that few people get to have, so I treat it as a sacred opportunity. Helping individuals reach their potential or heal a broken heart is an enormous responsibility, but also one a therapist will approach with care and encouragement.
I have lived in Chicago for the past 10 years and have been a therapist and social worker during that time. I got my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. For hobbies, I love playing soccer, reading, speaking Spanish, and gardening. My therapeutic orientation is born out of my desire to answer life's big questions and love of philosophy.
I believe that meaningful change starts with clarity, insight, and a plan. I help people navigate trauma, substance use, life transitions, and identity shifts with a calm, focused approach. I bring a strategic mindset to therapy—always looking beneath the surface to understand patterns, build structure, and support long-term growth. Whether you're processing deep emotional wounds or trying to make sense of a major life change, I offer a space that’s thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based care.
Hi there, my names is Meghan Skidmore and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Northern Illinois. I have 18 years of experience as a clinical social worker. I have previously worked with children in mental health crisis as well as with children and families involved with the child welfare system. I also have worked the past 15 years as a school social worker, working with children and families to help them be successful in and out of the school setting.
I am a social worker with 25 years of experience supporting clients across the lifespan — from infants and their caregivers to older adults navigating later‑life challenges. My work is grounded in the belief that our thoughts are powerful drivers of our emotions and behaviors. When we learn to understand and reshape those thoughts, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
Using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), I help clients harness the power of their thinking to influence how they feel and act in everyday situations. Many people have been taught to “just change their behavior,” and when that doesn’t work, they blame themselves. I guide clients toward a different approach — one that starts with the mind, not with willpower.
In our sessions, I use analogies, real‑life examples, and practical tools that clients can immediately apply. My goal is for every session to end with one new tool for their toolbox, something concrete they can practice between sessions. And while the work is meaningful, I believe it can also be engaging — even fun — as clients begin to see themselves and the world through a new, more empowering lens.
Are you ready to live better? Do you currently feel stuck in the past? Do you desire to be fully in the present to do well today and in the future?

I focus on CBT therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy. Let’s collaborate together to help you reach your personal goals. Let us work together to find the tools and strategies that works for you. I offer a nonjudgmental space for you to process your issues and concerns. Let’s work together to manage your personal challenges.

I have a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Southern Illinois University specializing in Substance Abuse. From substance abuse counseling, I have expanded my areas of specialties to include family and relationship dynamics and how to heal "survival skills" that have evolved into self-defeating life patterns.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois and Maine. I have experience working with clients in crisis with severe mental illness to adults experiencing depression and anxiety with chronic complex medical conditions.
Coping with life challenges is not something you have to go through alone. Many people seek therapy for support, information, and new ideas on how to better handle the curve balls that life can throw sometimes. I believe that human beings are incredibly resilient and sometimes need assistance in recognizing their own inner strength to create positive changes in their lives. The therapeutic relationship should be collaborative, built upon both mutual respect and independence, and I hope to empower my clients to find opportunities for personal growth so that they can move forward with their goals.
I have been a great support to those experiencing significant changes in their lives such as new medical diagnosis or crisis events.
Be proud of making this step forward toward your best self.
