As an avid runner, I believe there is a strong connection between the mind and body and I try to incorporate a holistic approach in therapy. Whether it is offering nutritional suggestions on foods that help alleviate depressive symptoms, or helping you identify a form of exercise that helps you alleviate your stress and anxiety, I look at you as a ‘whole person’ rather than a collection of symptoms. Often described as patient and calm, I utilize these traits to create a safe space for you to explore your difficulties and find solutions. Practicing from a solution-focused perspective I believe that even the smallest changes are a step in the right direction. I'll work alongside you as a guide and focus on your strengths to help you build upon what is already working. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families.

began my practice in social work while working with foster children in the state's custody. I also have worked with active duty military for nine years. I believe this has greatly increased my ability to work with survivors of abuse and trauma. When working with others I like to find out what their goals are and what they feel they are ready to work on to improve their quality of life. I encourage, validate and support throughout the therapeutic experience to help someone achieve their goals. I have personal and professional experience with childhood abuse, and suicide that has afforded me the ability to empathize and know first hand some of the hardships associated with these circumstances. In addition, my professional experience has allowed me to learn some very effective options in helping others. I genuinely enjoy helping others and seeing them achieve a good quality of life. I look forward to the opportunity to help you identify your goals for therapy. I offer support and guidance to help you get to where you want to go!

Hello, I’m erica! Whether we find ourselves at our stressed out breaking point, ready to process old wounds, or simply seeking to understand ourselves more deeply in order to build a life that we desire, each of us needs a place to lay down our stressors and talk out the problems that we face that feels safe, warm, and non-judgmental. For many of us, one of those places is with a trusted therapist. It can feel daunting to explore the idea of starting therapy; and yet, to even be sifting through therapists online shows already a level of hope, care for, and dedication to yourself and your wellbeing - what a meaningful moment! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois, and earned my master’s degree in clinical social work from The University of Chicago. In my years of practice I have worked with adults who are struggling with the pressures of the world and the pain or trauma they have endured, are processing current or upcoming moments or seasons of change, and are overall seeking to find their own healing, hope, and beliefs. Most often my clients are looking to address anxiety and depression, trauma, perinatal mental health, self image and confidence, education and career direction and development, sexuality and sexual or gender identity, and cultural experience and identity. Regardless of what specifically you are seeking and carrying, I am honored to be invited to walk alongside you on your unique journey of healing and discovery. I seek to always offer warmth and a gentle and empathetic presence where you can feel free to explore whatever is on your mind or in your heart and know that it will be met not with judgment, but rather with compassion and care.

The desire to be a parent runs deep through your soul, and is unlike any other feeling. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, I understand the complex emotional and psychological impact that infertility and miscarriage can have. For women or men starting their journey to conception or who are having difficulty conceiving, I can: • Support you in maintaining hope, peace and positivity while navigating uncertainty and help you build resiliency as you work through obstacles. • Help you to recognize and access your deeper intuition, so you are better equipped to honor your body, spirit and mind with the highest intention throughout your journey. • Work with you on increasing clarity and purpose around your fertility journey, checking in with your emotional, psychological and spiritual alignment as you move forward on your unique path. • Utilize a holistic approach to address integrative lifestyle strategies that may be beneficial to your fertility path, including nutrition, meditation and sleep quality. • Assist you in addressing relationship difficulties that can arise out of the stress of fertility challenges, and help you develop strategies to increase intimacy with your partner and foster healthy communication. For women and men considering or undergoing assisted reproductive treatments: • Modern medical technologies can sometimes cause us to feel disconnected from the natural processes of conception and pregnancy. We can work together to source your inner compass to establish personal guidelines and boundaries around assisted reproduction treatments so that you can approach these decisions and situations from a place of empowerment and sovereignty. • I can help you learn effective coping strategies for stress, depression and anxiety that may arise from diagnosis and treatment. • We can work together on developing a toolbox for knowing how to respond to inquiries and comments from family and friends and navigating workplace considerations. • In between treatments, we can focus on building resiliency while preparing emotionally and psychologically for your next round of treatment. For women and men who have experienced reproductive loss: • The devastating and seemingly invisible pain of losing a pregnancy is unique in that it involves not only the loss of your baby, but also involves the loss of the future - and there is no accepted way to mark that loss. Sometimes it seems that friends and family members expect the person to move on quickly. Partners often grieve differently - and for men, the trauma of miscarriage is often overlooked. Also, some women may suffer guilt or shame associated with the loss that doesn't tend to occur with other types of grieving. • There is no universal template for grief. Together, we will address your unique needs as you work through your grieving process.

Ever since we have embarked on our journey through life, we may have had the opportunity to experience love, kindness, joy, or passion—but we may have also experienced pain, discomfort, anger, betrayal, tragedy, or grief. During the moments you’ve experienced the latter it’s very possible the events that took place have been frozen in your mind, making it impossible to forget or process. This may have left you feeling depressed, anxious, mistrusting, stagnant, or even scared. Please do not feel hopeless in your efforts to “fix” yourself. You are not broken or damaged. My goal as your therapist would be to support and empower you on your journey so you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. As a trauma-informed therapist I place an emphasis on EMDR therapy but still hold an eclectic approach because your situation is unique. I am a holistic and culturally sensitive clinician who places a huge importance on building a trusting relationship with you to promote comfortability and security. I am not here to rush you through your process because it can take some time before you feel comfortable sharing. I have experience working with individuals who have trauma, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life transitioning issues. I am also a Reiki Practitioner and offer distance healing. Together we can explore and understand the reasoning being prominent issues while working towards healing and resolution. I would be honored to assist you on your journey through life.

I believe everyone has the narrative to their own story and the answer they seek is within; sometimes it just needs a little compassionate digging. Because therapy isn't a life time based resource, I believe in empowering individuals to discover their own inner resource pool and teach new coping techniques to continue to build resilience and self compassion. My approach is race informed, trauma informed, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. The systems built around us exacerbate the amount of trauma we experience and further damage our capacity for recovery. Sometimes the hardest part is recognizing you have taken yourself to a point where guidance may be the next best option, however it is important for that guidance isn't in favor of dominant groups. I specialize in providing trauma based therapeutic interventions, while focusing on the somatic experiences of where trauma is stored/harbored in our bodies to develop tools for regulation and healing. I believe the key ingredient is building a therapeutic relationship filled with trust, safety and compassion, as well as accountability and movement forward. I am certified in TF-CBT as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher, and regularly utilize these modalities in combination with other psychodynamic and skill based approaches. When we engage in trauma recovery work, we cannot do it alone. Thanks for trusting me to accompany you in your journey to healing and witnessing you living a better life.

Hi, I'm an IL Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and board Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with my Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Drake University. I have 15 years experience providing therapy in inpatient, community, home, and remote settings. I have worked with clients across the lifespan; however, I've found most children are best served with play therapy, which I do not know how to provide in a remote setting. I understand the difficulties of managing work, school, and personal relationships. I can help you develop the self esteem, compassion, mindfulness, and other skills necessary to meet your personal and professional goals and live your best life. My approach is eclectic; always informed by a multicultural, feminist, and strengths perspective. I believe a person's lived experience is strongly informed by their cultures and gender. I also believe people have the ability to work through their concerns. Sometimes we all need an unbiased person to listen and assist us through the process.

Life is challenging, you don’t need to navigate it by yourself. If you are bewildered and unsure of your life path, experiencing strained relationships, having difficulty “keeping up” and continually feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone. These are questions that many of my clients are searching for answers to. Life comes with many responsibilities and can be challenging to navigate. Children, adolescents and adults are becoming discouraged, lacking motivation, and frustrated by their commitments. Here are a few of the issues that I assist my clients with; I help children develop their social skills, and how to problem-solve situations, I help adolescents examine their choices in life and how to manage their emotions, and I work with adults to find purpose in life and develop self-care. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I will help guide you to identify your current concerns and to learn about your past to help us with the present. I will help identify your strengths and explore ways to use them to address life’s questions and challenges. Together we will formulate goals to address during our sessions.
