Hi there, I am Charly. As a clinical therapist, I admire your willingness to seek therapy support. I want to offer understanding, and empathic emotional support to assist anyone experiencing emotional distress. Most people tend to suffer silently in their heads, or minds, due to conscious or subconscious, self-blame, shame, or guilt feelings as they seem to feel helpless. Individuals experiencing acute emotional distress due to mental health conditions often fail to realize that unresolved, deep internal pain or heartache is silently triggering their emotional distress. One school of talk therapy called, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), proposes that the lack of the capacity for "Psychological Flexibility" and our brain's default, or Survival Mode functioning the instinctual responses of "Flight or Flight," as required for human survival. As, your therapist, I am willing to support you in exploring your difficulty or distress and examine the mental barriers or psychological blinders causing you to feel internally conflicted and stuck. Some of my past and current clients tell me that "my ability to relate to them with an open mind and withholding personal judgment and a solution-focused perspective," helps them to feel at ease and connect with me and my style of therapy. I follow an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from academic learning, experiential knowledge, and over 30 years of practicing experience using evidence-based treatment modalities based on scientific literature and up-to-date neuroscience research. I have training and experience in the following major treatment modalities such as CBT, REBT, SFBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and specifically to deal with trauma, a newer form of Rapid Eye Movement Therapy (Accelerated Resolution Therapy).

I am a licensed therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions, including divorce, separation, and shifts in identity or direction. I also support first responders who are managing chronic stress, burnout, and the emotional demands of high-intensity work, as well as individuals who are struggling with the transition into adulthood after high school and finding their footing in independence, relationships, and purpose. My style is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in helping you make sense of what you’re going through without judgment. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, even if they’re doing their best to keep things together on the outside. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, understand patterns, and begin creating more clarity and stability in your life. I integrate insight-oriented therapy with practical, evidence-based tools to help you build emotional awareness, improve coping skills, and make meaningful, sustainable change. Hi, I’m Philip Crouse, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. My clinical background is rooted in high-acuity environments, meaning I am highly experienced in helping individuals navigate complex crises, severe anxiety, deep depression, and the heavy weight of addiction and trauma. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or buried by recent life events, my goal is to help you find air to breathe right now. I don't believe in just sitting and nodding while you vent; therapy should be active. We will work collaboratively using practical, evidence-based tools—like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused techniques—to dismantle unhelpful behavioral loops and build immediate, actionable coping strategies. I operate from a strictly trauma-informed framework. This means I understand that safety and nervous system stabilization are the prerequisites for any real healing, and your autonomy and pace are always my top priorities. Whether you are navigating intense grief, the pressure of a major life transition, or the ongoing impact of past trauma, I provide a grounded, non-judgmental space where you are seen as a resilient survivor. Together, we can shift from just talking about the problem to actively building the functional, manageable life you deserve.

Do you find yourself constantly worrying or overthinking every possible outcome? Do you feel like you must prepare for the worst just to feel in control? Maybe you struggle with uncertainty, fear making the wrong decision, or feel like everything has to be done perfectly. Anxiety can leave you feeling restless, exhausted, and stuck in patterns that affect your sleep, your relationships, and your peace of mind. Life transitions often bring us into what can feel like “stormy waters.” As Viktor Frankl wrote, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” I specialize in helping those suffering from anxiety, including health care professionals and veterans. You don't have to continue suffering. As a seasoned therapist, I can help you feel empowered to stop the cycle of worry and anxiety, find your sense of purpose, and reclaim your life. The good news is that we've all gone through seasons of our lives when we feel this way. The first step is to reach out to someone for help. My approach is straightforward: together we will identify your goals, establish a problem-solving treatment plan, and go from there. If something is telling you it's time to begin your journey; give me a call.

I approach mental wellness as a spectrum of being that will regularly ebb and flow for all people. We all have "good" days and "not so good" days; we all need someone to talk to and to listen to us when days are harder, and we all need a compassionate voice to tell us that we can work through this. Menatl health work is manageable when it is education and information based, which helps us to make our problems seem more manageable. I like to help my clients feel comfortable about talking through their thoughts and obstacles, and finding real, simple solutions to problems. I have worked with people of all ages; my youngest client was 3 years old, and my oldest client was 84; I am proud to say that I can adjust to meet clients' needs. This is due to my ability to listen and to collaborate actively with clients to help them have a say in their care and healing.

I have been licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2004, and have held a supervision designation since 2015. I have also held a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a supervision/training designation license since 2018. I have maintained a private counseling practice in Chillicothe since 2000, and I continue to work with individuals and families in that capacity. I have dedicated my career to helping others and to working with the community to ensure the well-being of families and children. My most common theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Christian Therapy, but I am proud to be able to use a multitude of approaches, dependent on what works best for the client(s) involved. I value the individual and the couple regardless of age or philosophical approach to their life or relationship. I see my goal of treatment as improving the individual or couple to be the best they want to be. My communication tone or approach tends to be direct but laid back. We are in session to work together, not have me tell you what to do or where you need to go.

I look forward to meeting and working with you. I am a licensed mental health counselor with a certification as a clinical trauma professional. I moved from Pennsylvania in 2019 as I could not handle winter anymore and needed to be somewhere warm! I have two Master of Arts degrees from Kutztown University - one in Counseling Psychology (obtained in 1995) and the other in School Counseling (obtained in 2004). I started in mental health therapy in 1995, moved into substance abuse counseling for several years, then to school counseling while I raised my son for 18 yrs, and now have returned to mental health/substance use counseling as that is my passion. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband doing outdoor activities - especially riding the Harley and going out on the water. I love to exercise and walk daily and enjoy knitting in my spare time. Everyone in life (including therapists at times) need someone to talk to in order to help resolve problems, manage stress, process trauma or enhance coping skills. I believe in looking at what you want to accomplish as the goal of therapy and then working on skills to achieve that goal. I utilize trauma stabilization and reprocessing strategies, cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as person-centered and solution focused techniques. I believe everyone has the tools inside them to achieve their goals; it is just about unlocking them and utilizing them. I have worked extensively with trauma survivors in addition to clients dealing with depression, anxiety, eating and substance use disorders. I have worked with the LGTBQ+ community. I enjoy working with all clients but prefer working with those ages 8 and older. I offer individual, couples, and family counseling.

I have worked as a Mental Health Therapist for well, close to 40 years years (can't believe it!), and I love my work as much today as the day I started. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have worked as a Certified Addictions professional. I am honored to join patients where they are at on their journey. I focus on setting positive goals which can often help define the problem. As I have realized the courage it takes to come to therapy, I work to establish comfort by asking questions, and being sensitive to what your expressed needs are. Then, of course, the therapeutic work will follow. I utilize a warm, relaxed style with fierce reflection or gentle support as needed. I believe that everyone benefits from a therapeutic experience to attain the best version of themselves. 1 utilize humor combined with therapeutic skills which makes my approach unique. Laughter isn't always appropriate, but it can be very helpful with reframing and bringing down barriers. I have a broad skill set and utilize multiple interventions to create a unique treatment plan for each person, couple, or family. Some of the modalities that I frequently utilize are: Solution- Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psycho-education, Systems Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, Behavioral Modification, Skills training and Motivational interviewing/coaching.
