My name is Chiquita and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received my BS in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I’ve been working in the counseling field since 2012. I work with all ages especially teens and adults in areas such as anger management, anxiety, low self-esteem, school and peer issues, communication, ADHD and more. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy and person centered therapy to assist clients with better functioning in their everyday lives. I listen to my clients and their needs to gain an understanding of their perspectives and presenting issues. The way I tailor sessions depends on the particular client, issues, and needs. I can assist you identify patterns and help break the multigenerational trauma cycle and create new patterns to help you find fulfillment in your life. I like to use a gentle, caring, non-judgmental and creative approach utilizing modalities such as ACT, CBT, EMDR, ART and therapeutic art. My office is in Neptune Beach, FL. I see individuals, couples and families. I got into counseling because I love to listen! It was second nature to me, growing up.
