Telehealth Tips
If you're used to seeing your mental health professional in their office, it may take some time to adjust to this new process. Take heart that our patients typically find video conferencing beneficial.
Make a list of the main symptoms you want to address in the conversation. Also be sure to indicate when your symptoms started, what tends to exacerbate them, and what, if anything, seems to soothe them.
Write down questions.
Remember that mental health appointments are a two-way street. This is your chance to ask questions you have about your symptoms, brain scan, diagnosis, and treatment. Having a list of questions ready can help you remember to ask them.
Have your medical and psychiatric history handy.
Your therapist may ask questions about past medical or psychological issues in addition to inquiring about names and dosages of medications you have taken. Having this information available can save precious minutes during your appointment so you can spend more time talking about how you are going to get healthy.
Minimize distractions and choose a quiet, comfortable spot
One of the best strategies to ensure a meaningful appointment is to eliminate distractions. Close your door, turn off the notifications on your phone, and make sure someone is watching the kids so you can focus. Being able to hear clearly is another important element of an effective mental Tele-Health Zoom appointment.
Try to minimize any background noise, such as the TV, the washing machine, or a barking dog. In addition, it's important that you feel comfortable in your setting during your appointment. Find a spot where you are relaxed and at ease.
Troubleshoot technology beforehand.
Find out what technology will be used and make sure you know how to use it prior to your appointment. Are you signed up for Zoom, Skype, or another video conferencing app? Do you know how it works? If you have never used the app before, do a practice call with a friend beforehand so you can work out the kinks.
Set a reminder to keep appointment.
Most of us can benefit from helpful reminders and alerts from our digital calendars. Setting your calendar to send you an alert 5-10 minutes prior to your virtual session can give you the time to gather your lists and questions and to prepare yourself mentally. Reminders can be especially critical if you have a tendency to be forgetful or inattentive.
Unblock your phone.
If you're doing a phone call, make sure your phone isn't set to block unknown callers and answer your phone at the designated time even if it shows that it's from an unknown caller.
DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Take notes and/or ask for a recap.

Hello there, I'm Liz! I work with clients who are wanting to heal from past trauma experiences and get to the root causes of their struggles. My goal is to help you gain insight, build self-awareness, and foster personal growth. Some areas of focus I enjoy addressing with my clients include boundary building, negative core beliefs, strengthening internal validation, self-care, identifying trauma responses, addressing attachment wounds, aligning to your values, improving daily functioning, and developing healthy coping strategies.
I am trained in a variety of therapeutic models and techniques to help my clients including but not limited to Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. For those who desire and request it, I can integrate Christian-based counseling into the therapeutic process. I believe education/knowledge of what you are going through sets the foundation to the therapeutic work you will be doing.

Hi, I'm Denise and I have been a therapist for over 10 years. Whether your relationship feels off, and you’re struggling to communicate with your partner, anxiety or self-doubt is holding you back and you’re tired of second-guessing yourself, or maybe a life transition is bringing challenges you never expected, and you’re looking for support, I’m here to help you today.
In today's world, mental health support is needed more than ever. Mental health IS health. It's time to end the stigma and realize it's okay to not be okay. Finding a therapist can be a daunting process but congratulations on taking the first step! As a therapist, I am to foster an environment that is warm, collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, I earned my Masters in Social Work from Boston College after receiving my Bachelors of Arts degree in history. In addition to Massachusetts, I am also licensed in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Illinois. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege to work with a vast array of individuals from all walks of life including children and adolescents, adults, seniors, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. As a telehealth provider, I only treat adults over the age of 22.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including both inpatient and outpatient units, community mental health clinics and correctional facilities. I have experience providing individual and group treatment for patients and families. I strive to provide a safe space for self-exploration and I have solid diagnostic and assessment skills. This allows for a keen understanding of the person and the modality that will allow the client to meet their clinical goals.
I believes that a core underpinning of treatment is respecting each individual's uniqueness and working collaboratively to build resilience and discover individual strengths. I have long been an advocate for the underserved and marginalized in our society and have worked to decrease the stigma associated with mental health treatment.
Finding a therapist who you trust and feel heard by can be equally as challenging. But that’s where I would like to come in! I believe in building a strong, therapeutic alliance with the children and families I work with so that they feel validated, respected, and supported. My clients describe me as involved, nonjudgmental, enthusiastic, and easy to talk to. I respect all identities, I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQ+ youth, questioning individuals, and gender nonconforming folks. I place a strong emphasis on a family approach, which means I can include caregivers in treatment to maximize the benefits of a holistic and systematic approach.
My areas of clinical specialty include: child/adolescent anxiety and depression, peer and family relationships, foster care/reunification/adoption, parenting/coparenting skills, gender affirming care, ADHD and neurodivergent individuals, anger management, and maximizing healthy family functioning.
My goal is to help my clients find joy, happiness and peace no matter what they are experiencing or have experienced in their lives. I work with those struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, transition and change and those with feelings of low self worth, lack of confidence, loneliness, confusion and despair. You will not always feel the way you do today and there is light in the darkness. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.

My name is Dr. Olushola Bakare, and I'm a board-certified Psychotherapist. I attended St Joseph College. I'm happy to help you today with any of your concerns. I enjoy empowering people and digging out their strengths. I don't ask fish to fly, neither do I ask birds to swim. I respect everyone's strengths and help my client recognize them. I love to highlight my client's strengths. I offer a safe, warm, therapeutic, judgment-free space for Adults (18+) and Older Adults (65+). I am sorry, but I do not accept clients who pay in cash. Also, every late cancellation or no-show accrues a late charge fee.
It is my ethical duty to officially terminate our therapeutic relationship when it is reasonably clear that the client is no longer beneficent, services are no longer required, counseling no longer serves the client's needs and interests, or Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT limits do not allow the provision of further counseling services.
It is the policy of Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, that our professional relationship will be terminated after a one-month consistent lapse of meeting with a client. Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, will attempt to notify you of this change in status as soon as possible after one month. My ethical duty is identifying, being available, and caring for current clients. It could feel awkward for our relationship to end, yet it is not meant to be discourteous in any way. I do not complete disability forms (Social Security, work excuse, FMLA, Court papers/legal papers, emotional support letters, etc).
NO COUPLE THERAPY OR MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, PLEASE!
Hello, I'm Dr. Ebonee. Do you feel pulled in a million directions, struggling to keep up with relationships, work, and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help individuals manage anxiety, avoid burnout, and break free from cycles of trauma, stress, and self-doubt. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you back to balance.
My interest in spirituality, which is not tied to any specific religion, allows me to offer a holistic approach to healing that addresses the emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of well-being. I emphasize trauma’s role in shaping core beliefs, psychosocial stressors, and generational patterns, recognizing its imprint on the central nervous system. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), coaching, and positive psychology to reframe trauma narratives, foster self-discovery, and disrupt patterns of depression, anxiety, and re-traumatization. Whether you're navigating trauma, relationship challenges, or cycles of stress and overwhelm, I provide a safe space where healing begins.
I know it may seem impossible, but what if I told you that you have the power to change your life? Now is the perfect time to start your healing journey. In our sessions, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques to help you overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let’s work together to build communication strategies, set boundaries, break cyclical trauma patterns, and foster self-worth for long-term stability.
I’m excited to be on this journey with you! Here's a helpful video that explains the therapeutic process and what you can expect during your healing journey.

I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal concerns. I firmly believe that every individual possesses the capacity to actively participate in the challenging journey of personal growth, both within and beyond the therapy room. Each person inherently deserves the right to self-determination and authenticity. In my practice, I am dedicated to guiding individuals toward realizing their fullest potential. As an LGBTQIA+ advocate, a supporter of racial justice movements, a feminist, and an anti-Zionist Jew, I am committed to fostering inclusivity and equality. I also embrace a sex-positive and body-affirming approach in my therapeutic work. I am passionate about the healing power of nature, art, and the companionship of animals.
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space; within that space is your power and freedom…”
Here’s the thing; we’re all basically the same- but then again, not. Our reactions (to unexpected events, comments, public scrutiny) vary, depending on our nature, personality, character and whether or not we’ve had breakfast. While the last part was just to get your attention, I’m committed to understanding what makes YOU “tick” and why you respond the way you do. That, in and of itself may be fascinating, but my true intention is to get you back on track, help you find your footing and become laser-focused & confident, independent of the circumstances .
A bit about me: A native New Yorker, I acquired my MSW following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CCNY. Essentially, I view myself as a Life Coach, a motivator who recognizes that we’re ALL unique individuals, but do share many of the same thoughts & feelings. Most of us have struggled with anxiety, uncertainty and self-doubt- yet we’ve also experienced feeling confident, grounded and secure at one time or another. Then something happened. Our backgrounds and early childhood experiences, our genetic predispositions all serve to shape our personalities and the essence of our being. To that end, as a clinician, I strive to guide individuals to examine their beliefs- in order to gain insight into their potentially self-destructive behavior- or whatever is getting in the way of their progress. Together, we explore why you’ve sought treatment Now and what you’re looking to achieve or gain. What do you identify as the challenges or issues, what have you tried so far and what’s blocking you? Is it apathy or complacency that’s overshadowing what used to be determination & drive? Is it fear, feelings of inadequacy, imposter syndrome? Let’s find out…
My name is Rick Amaral, ACSW, LCSW. Let me begin by fully introducing myself and sharing with you my years of experience as a clinician, manager and director. I have been working with children, teens and adult in many different formats (i.e. individual, family work, group work) for over 30 years in both private practice, as well as with local community mental health agencies.
I am also an Adjunct Professor at the local area colleges for the past 20+ years, teaching both psychology and sociology courses (both graduate and undergraduate level courses). In our sessions, I would like to utilize a strengths-based approach that works alongside you to identify areas that you would like to work on.
Acknowledging that all cars come with rearview mirrors, I would like to spend some time hearing from you about past life events and journey that you think have contributed to your development (both positively and otherwise). My preferred way of assisting you is to focus on a Life Narrative format. Such narratives allow for many chapters, some written, many left to be written.
When warranted, I will provide psycho-educational information on topics of interest (i.e. diagnosis, skill building, coping skills, mindfulness, etc..) and will share with you both local and community supports that you could draw upon after our time together has come to a close.

I bring something to individual and couples therapy that is rare today and not from a text book, that is lived experience. In drawing from different evidence based schools of thought in combination with my lived experiences we will employ such modalities of therapy such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Adversity and struggle are situations that are common. The goal to avoid both would be ideal but that is not reality. Peace and calmness in the mist of adversity and struggle is a possible reality and what we will strive to help you achieve.
Research and clinical experience guide my therapeutic approach. Much of my work involves helping individuals process trauma and life experiences or stressors. I understand that in working with individuals through an array of challenges, vulnerability and compassion are necessary for healing. It is my goal to provide a safe, warm, and relaxed environment for individuals to tune out external noise and deepen the connection within.
My great passion is to heal and empower my clients.
I guide my clients, (children, adults, and families),
through the exploration of unhealthy patterns and
relationships. I provide safety and support for
clients to become stronger and happier. If you are
ready for change then you are ready to do the work..
You will be amazed at how capable you are and how
quickly change can occur.
I’m a warm, insight-oriented therapist who offers a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating grief, relational wounds, and the impact of growing up around emotional chaos or inconsistency. My approach is grounded in deep listening and curiosity—I help clients slow down and make sense of their inner experience, uncovering patterns that may have once been protective but now feel limiting. Together, we create room for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to your story. Healing, in my work, begins with being deeply seen and understood.
As a dedicated and licensed social worker, I hold a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical concentration in health/mental health from Temple University. Are you wondering if your drug or alcohol use is becoming a problem? Maybe you know that it is a problem, but feel powerless to stop. Perhaps your struggle looks different—binge eating, compulsive spending, sabotaging your success at work or in relationships. These self-destructive patterns can take many forms, but they often have one thing in common: they feel automatic, inescapable, and deeply frustrating.
These behaviors may seem like choices, but they often serve a hidden purpose—keeping you safe in the familiar, avoiding painful emotions, or preserving a status quo that no longer serves you. Over time, they can trap you in cycles of shame, regret, and hopelessness.
