My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic-informed therapy is focused on learning how the individual's subconscious thoughts, feelings, and memories are affecting their current behavior. With this deepened insight and self-awareness, they can develop coping techniques and achieve therapeutic goals such as improving relationships and making better choices. This approach is favorable in helping clients address past issues of trauma with present-day functioning; identifying the links, triggers, and how to break the past cycles of behavior that are counterintuitive to present-day functioning.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been integrated into my practice as needed for over 15 years. This modality is used to teach individuals to challenge negative thought patterns and modify their responses to challenging situations. It is implemented according to the client's needs and to support clients in achieving the specified, measurable goals.

Christian Counseling

To support mental health through a faith-based approach, considering these key aspects of Christian Counseling: Integrating biblical principles with psychological practices for holistic healing. Focusing on spiritual growth and personal relationship with God as part of therapy. Addressing emotional and mental struggles through prayer and scripture. Encouraging forgiveness and reconciliation as pathways to healing. Provides a safe space for individuals to express their faith-related concerns. Utilizing community support and church resources to foster recovery. I have been utilizing this modality of treatment, upon the request of clients who seek a Bible-based and /or faith-based approach to therapy.

Trauma Informed Care

Providing effective support for individuals affected by trauma, considering these principles of trauma-informed care: Recognize the prevalence of trauma and its impact on individuals. Creating a safe and supportive environment for clients. Building trust through transparency and consistency in interactions. Empowering clients by involving them in their own care decisions. Focusing on strengths and resilience rather than deficits. Promoting collaboration and mutual respect between caregivers and clients.

She’s awesome I feel comfortable when I talk to her. She listens and gives me real life advice and doesn’t sugarcoat anything which is what I like. I’m glad that I found her because she’s been helping me through life.
