I specialize in anxiety and trauma as well as female and maternal mental health. I have a very person centered approach; meaning that I try to understand fully what brings you in and where you are coming from. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I'm genuine, approachable, and easy to talk to. I believe healing happens through authentic human connection, so I bring warmth, humor, curiosity, and compassion into every session. I frequently use metaphors, storytelling, and practical examples to help make difficult concepts easier to understand and create meaningful change. My experience has taught me that every person's story is unique. I don't simply treat symptoms—I work to understand the whole person, including how childhood experiences, relationships, trauma, and the nervous system continue to shape life today. I have extensive experience treating PTSD, complex trauma, and traumatic brain injury (TBI), and I also bring personal insight into the recovery process from TBI. Additionally, I am both personally and professionally familiar with the challenges faced by Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) and individuals raised in dysfunctional families. I understand the lifelong impact these experiences can have on self-worth, relationships, boundaries, and emotional well-being, as well as the work required to heal the wounded inner child while building a peaceful, authentic adult life. I believe therapy should be both supportive and transformative. I will meet you with compassion, but I will also encourage you to do the work that creates lasting change. My clients often describe me as part therapist, part coach, and part cheerleader—I celebrate your successes, help you navigate setbacks, and gently challenge you when old patterns keep you stuck. My goal is to create a safe, trusting relationship where you feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to move forward with confidence.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 5+ years of experience supporting individuals on their healing journeys. I believe your mind and body brought you here for a reason. My approach centers the needs of Black women and women of color who are ready to shift out of survival mode, perfectionism, and overthinking, and into deeper connection with themselves. I focus on somatic regulation, not just cognitive insight, because healing isn’t only about talking, it’s about learning to feel safe in your body. I offer a grounding, collaborative space where you can slow down, tune in, and build the inner capacity to show up for yourself with compassion and clarity.

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I work with adults and couples who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I have particular experience working with ADHD, men’s issues, relationships, anxiety, eating disorders, and emotional and behavioral concerns. My approach to therapy is warm, direct, curious, and collaborative. I listen carefully, but I also believe therapy should be an active conversation. I’ll ask questions, offer observations, help make connections, and sometimes challenge you to look at something differently. My training spans cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, behavioral, neuropsychological, humanistic, and Adlerian perspectives. Rather than asking every client to fit one particular model, I draw from these approaches based on the person sitting across from me. Sometimes that means practical strategies for something happening right now; other times it means understanding why the same pattern has followed you for years. Ideally, therapy gives us room for both.

I want therapy to be a place where you feel understood and can speak openly about what is difficult, confusing, or painful in your life. My approach is thoughtful, curious, and nonjudgmental, with attention to both finding greater acceptance of your current circumstances and making meaningful changes. I am a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, with particular expertise in substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Alongside clinical practice, I lead research and innovation efforts for a national behavioral healthcare organization, have directed treatment programs, and publish and speak on mental health and addiction. ¡Hablo Español! Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Roxana, and I’m a first-generation Mexican-American, born and raised in Southern California. I proudly served in the Marine Corps and have been working in mental health since 2012, providing case management to individuals facing homelessness and severe mental illness. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings throughout Riverside County, including Domestic Violence and Forensic Mental Health, where I worked closely with men in the Criminal Justice System. During my practicum, I provided individual counseling to military members, veterans, and first responders, helping them address relationship conflicts, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Gottman Relationship Method (Level 1). However, I believe that effective therapy begins with a genuine, person-to-person connection—one that builds trust, fosters open communication, and creates a sense of safety and mutual respect. My goal is to create a space where clients feel truly seen and valued, and I occasionally use humor to support meaningful therapeutic work that fosters long-lasting growth and change. Thank you again for visiting my profile—it would be an honor to work with you!

Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy. With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can. If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.

I was born in the US, but I was raised in Mexico. I lived in Tijuana for 10 years when my parents decided to move us across the border to Chula Vista, California. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I experienced a duality of cultures. I was often judged for either being “not Mexican enough” OR “not American enough.” I also faced enormous pressure to be successful – to justify my parents’ having left their beloved country so my sibling and I could have a better life. This is one of many reasons I decided to follow this path: to help those who feel alone in their journey. That’s how I felt when acculturating to this country. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at San Diego State University (SDSU). I was going to go directly into the workforce and eventually go back for my master’s, but an awesome professor challenged me to apply right away so I wouldn’t lose momentum. So, that’s what I did. I ended up getting my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Southern California. It took some time and courage to finish all my licensing requirements, but it was worth it! I’ve been licensed as a clinical social worker in California since 2019. I am certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Across my years in the mental health field, I’ve learned that codependency, attachment wounds, and identity-shifting survival patterns don’t just affect our thoughts — they shape our nervous system, our relationships, and the way we move through the world. Healing isn’t just psychological; it’s emotional, somatic, and deeply spiritual. My work integrates all three. I help individuals understand the parts of themselves that learned to over-function, people-please, or over-attach for safety, and guide them toward a life led by inner alignment, self-trust, and grounded confidence rather than fear.

Are you ready to take control of your life and make some changes? Are you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, stressed, stuck, and anxious and find it difficult to feel motivated? Or, maybe you’re recently experiencing a relationship issue and/or a recent loss and feeling sad and alone? I believe I can help you. My name is Monica Victoria Pulido. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Riverside and a Master’s in Social Worker from California State University of San Bernardino. I am a Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing as a clinician since 2003. I have extensive experience working with young children, young adults, outpatient care treating adults and the elderly, mental health settings, and groups. I can discuss and treat a variety of behavioral health concerns. I am interested in working with individuals who are experiencing major life transitions, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression and stress. In my work, I hope to offer you a safe, warm, and empathetic space where you can share your feelings but also feel empowered to make the changes necessary to live a more meaningful life. I strongly believe in the importance of meeting individuals where they are. I will assist you with developing insight into yourself and your situation. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and support you where you want to be. Whether that is: to gain confidence, communicate better, set boundaries, or start healing from your past traumas. I hope to be able to assist you in building a better version of yourself.

I have helped clients achieve freedom from self-doubt and live life with more confidence, courage, and clarity. By re-organizing our inner system we can achieve change in our outer world, feeling a greater sense of overall well-being and satisfaction. I’ve had the honor of working closely with children, families, and individuals healing from various forms of trauma and impacts of mental health from a cultural lens. Along the way, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the many different ways family life can shape us, sometimes in unexpected or challenging ways. I’ve worked in a variety of roles and settings, as a Director, Clinical Supervisor, across government agencies, to private and mental health centers, which has helped me see each person’s story from many angles. My approach is compassionate yet direct, down-to-earth, and tailored to you. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your family, or your relationships, I’m here to walk alongside you with kindness and respect. Together, we’ll create a safe space to explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.
