At a young age, I came to the United States from Pakistan through an arranged marriage. My experience as a young woman fresh to this country inspired my journey to making a difference in the community through activism and therapy. I went through my own therapeutic journey and now am excited to help my clients empower themselves in their narrative paths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, I have two goals: (1) building trust and rapport and (2) setting goals. Each client can have a different need for building trust and rapport in order to set goals, and I will ask them what those needs are and work with them in that first session to get to that point.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I am very strong at building trust with clients through my deep empathy and open-mindednesss for each of my clients. My clients have often remarked that my positive attitude towards their therapy and their life journey helps them greatly in therapy sessions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work closely with clients on past traumas, including grief and working through complex family dynamics. I also work with clients to find new beginnings. My goal for every client is to empower them to graduate therapy.

Narrative

My training is rooted in narrative therapy, where I work collaboratively with clients to empower them to reframe their life stories in a way that is consistent with their goals and values. My client is the expert in their life, and I embark on the journey with them to help them establish their own narrative. Clients can choose forms of therapies that will be most helpful to them, such as using bilbliotherapy to interpret their favorite texts, music therapy to narrate through song, or talk therapy to verbally explore their path.
