Through connection, empathy and a non-judgmental approach, I offer ways to help you discover what may be blocking you from finding your true path in life. By not seeing an individual for what symptoms they have or what is affecting them, I am more interested in helping you find what is the cause of symptoms and how to process them. I work with adults, adolescents and couples from all backgrounds. I am also open to any culture, belief, identification or orientation. All are welcome. I base all individual therapy on a client-focused approach and adapt sessions to the needs of each person.

Hi there! I am a 1st Generation Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am an immigrant daughter, born and raised in Ventura County, California. My parents came from the state of Michoacan, Mexico when they were in their late teen years. They met here in the United States, fell in love, and conceived 5 daughters. My parents taught me A LOT about community and giving back to others in need, even though at times it felt like we were the ones in need. Nonetheless, I inherited a helper and healer's DNA. Growing up in an environment where it was ingrained for us to care for others, I decided early on in my teen years that I wanted to study psychology. It fascinated me how much I learned on my own about human behavior just by observing others. As it turns out, it came from an internal need to learn more about myself and my behaviors. Through my undergraduate and graduate education, I was able to do just this while using an intersectionality lens. Through my journey in therapy, I was also able to learn about the balance I needed between caring for others and caring for myself. Not only that, but I was also able to hone in more on who I am as a person and what I want for my future self by shedding familial and societal pressures. For this reason, I have established a strong passion for working with 1st Generation young adults working to connect back to their true intentions and life ideals. I use an eclectic vision for therapy to support individuals in re-discovering themselves and/or connecting them back to their roots. I have a focus on supporting others going through changes and life transitions, depression and anxiety related to childhood trauma and symptoms of ADHD, women's health and the impact on our mental health, and relationship challenges. I started my career in mental health through a non-profit/community-based sector, so I have a "whatever it takes" approach to helping those I serve to get to a space of relief and comfort in their lives. Thank you for reading, and I hope you connect with the best therapist for you!

***For child clients: I strongly prefer to meet in person if at all possible. Your child may not be appropriate for telehealth due to their age, development, or other factors. My in-person days are Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. I will need to cancel any virtual intake appointments scheduled for children under age 10, unless you have reached out to me ahead of time to discuss the specific circumstances.*** I work with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, phobias, panic disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I believe in an evidence-based approach to treating anxiety disorders, OCD, and trauma. I also emphasize teaching individuals skills including setting healthy boundaries, learning to communicate their wants and needs, and cultivating a healthy interdependence with others in their life. I use warmth and humor to help you feel understood as an individual. My approach blends attunement and caring with creating practical solutions for helping you to deal with your problems. In my work with children, I make sure that parents are involved in treatment so that you have the skills to validate your child's emotions, manage behavioral challenges, and create a closer bond with your child. I want to support you as a parent in helping your child outside of the one hour per week your child is in therapy, so that you can help your child to return to the important job of being a kid.

As human beings we experience a seemingly infinite amount of thoughts, feelings, and experiences. And while I am an optimist at heart, I know that life can often feel lonely, unfair, and overwhelming. Trying to navigate these difficult times can be stressful and confusing. You don't have to go through it alone. I believe everyone has the right and the capability to live the kind of life they want, whatever that may look like. I view Therapy as a very human process, as well as a very sacred one. As your therapist, my goal is for our conversations to offer a sense of relief and perspective, while helping foster healthy self-exploration and personal growth. Through supportive conversations, I aim to help you gain a deeper understanding and connection to the values within yourself and the world that surrounds you. My hope is that through this process you will find a life that is authentic, and meaningful...and that you truly enjoy.

For the most part I work with people who have significant life experience, ages 35 and over-- maybe about 30 and over if you have serious concerns that you realize will take time and work. Most of my clients have developed serious and/or specialized interests in the arts or sciences, as I have. I'm a published personality researcher and former consulting psychologist for the California Dept of Mental Health. I have wide and far-flung experience in many areas of the world, and worked in database design/programming for several F500 companies including Eli Lilly and Hertz I've been licensed 17 years, had a specialized training sequence in Jungian psychology, worked professionally in the human services, music and information technology industries and have lived over 60 years. If you want a therapist/analyst with knowledge that only comes from some talent combined with wide experience, I may be able to be of assistance. I have decades of clinical experience with people ranging from inmates in State prisons to scientifically brilliant individuals making progress in the areas of life-saving new medications. I've training in meditation (Zen, TM, Yoga, Tibetan), music, and endurance athletics. One central idea I love is "We can only fix the future." I like to help people move into a better one. But PLEASE see ground rules below. There are no exceptions. IMPORTANT NOTICES: 1) I have a Strict no-show/Late Cancellation policy. Cancellations less than 24 hours before appointments result in me billing a no-show fee. 2) All clients have a right to their notes from therapy for a "reasonable charge." ( State law) My fee is $20 per record. However any type of advocacy, for instance offering opinions on disability, involvement in lawsuits, and communication with agencies like Child Protective Services or your lawyers or the like is only handled in my independent private practice separate from GROW's intermediation. there is a sizeable retainer required before any discussion or work and my higher hourly fees are almost never covered by insurance.

Hello. I am so glad you are here. Are you going through a challenging time in your life? Do you seek distractions to keep you from confronting your innermost thoughts and feelings? Perhaps you feel alone since you believe nobody will understand you and there is nobody you can trust. When problems remain unresolved, negative feelings can bog you down such as frustration, anger and hopelessness. Life loses its luster. Your relationships, work, or health suffers. You put on a front to appear "normal." These are signs to take the first step towards healing and change. I am here to tell you that you are not alone. I will listen to your story and empower you with a voice. I will nurture all that is good in you as you blossom into the best version of your Self. I love to work with teenagers, adults and families. I graduated from John F. Kennedy University specializing in Transpersonal Psychology. Transpersonal therapy aims to integrate the spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creative aspects of the Self while viewing emotional dysfunction as opportunity for self awareness and development. I grew up in the Philippines and I speak Tagalog. I am fully trained in EMDR and Brainspotting and provide trauma informed care. I am also a California certified sexual assault counselor.
