Dawniel Page
You’ve spent a long time being the strong one, showing up for everyone else while quietly carrying more than anyone realizes. Maybe anxiety has crept into corners of your life it didn’t used to touch. Maybe grief or a difficult season has left you feeling stuck, disconnected from the person you used to be. You’re not broken. You’re responding to real things that happened to you, and there’s a path through it. I’ve been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2006, and have been working in private practice since 2020. EMDR has become the heart of my work because I’ve watched it help people move past pain that talk therapy alone couldn’t touch. Alongside that, I draw on cognitive-behavioral, dialectical, and mindfulness approaches, always centered on your strengths, not just your struggles.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 18 years of experience working with adults, families and children.
My style is personal and collaborative. We build a plan around who you actually are, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. You’ll always be met with dignity, respect, and compassion, and you’ll never be treated as a diagnosis or a problem to fix. This work isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about getting back to yourself, steadier, clearer, and no longer at the mercy of what happened before.
First session
During our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and compassionate environment where your experiences and feelings are valued. Getting to Know You We’ll start by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. I’ll listen carefully to understand your background, strengths, and what has brought you here. Building a Safe Space Creating a safe and trusting environment is my priority. You’ll have the space to share at your own pace, and I’ll be here to support you with empathy and understanding. Collaborative Planning Together, we’ll discuss your goals for therapy and develop a plan tailored to your needs. Questions and Comfort Feel free to ask any questions or share any concerns. My aim is to create a collaborative, empowering experience where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Next Steps We’ll talk about the next sessions and how we can work together to help you move toward your goals. Remember, therapy is a journey, and I’ll be here with you every step of the way.
Strengths
In sessions with me, we won’t just process what’s happening, we’ll look at the patterns underneath it, in your relationships, your history, your nervous system, and the roles you play every day. Many of my clients are used to holding it all together; insightful people who’ve already tried to think their way out of anxiety, depression, or old trauma. What I bring is a strengths-based, empathetic ear, giving space to process your feelings, weigh your options, and be truly heard, without judgment or rush.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is successful, self-aware, and often the one others turn to for support, but ready to stop carrying it alone. You might be navigating anxiety, depression, or the lingering effects of past trauma. You’ve likely already done a lot of thinking about your patterns, and now you’re looking for real, felt change rather than more insight. You’re curious about yourself and ready to look beneath the surface, not just at what’s happening, but why it keeps happening. Your goals may be less about “fixing” something and more about feeling more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself again.
Treatment methods
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I’ve been using DBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped many clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use DBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
Eclectic
I’ve found that using an eclectic method can be an effective and adaptive way to create a more personalized and impactful therapy experience. I’m trained in multiple evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing, DBT, CBT and EMDR.
EMDR
I have recently been trained in EMDR and believe it can be very useful and supportive with trauma. EMDR aims to facilitate the brain's natural healing process by reprocessing traumatic memories so they are stored in a less distressing way. The bilateral stimulation is believed to enhance communication between the brain's hemispheres, aiding in the integration of traumatic memories.
