Hi, I'm Theresa Johnson, a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 19 years of nursing experience—9 of those as an NP. My background spans cardiovascular care, neurosurgery, general surgery, and critical care during the COVID-19 crisis in NYC, and now outpatient psychiatry. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based care. I aim to be both practical and supportive—whether you're sitting with discomfort or ready to move forward, we’ll work together at your pace. I have experience working with MDD, bipolar disorder, peripartum mood disorder, GAD, ADHD, and major life transitions, and I bring warmth and cultural awareness into every session. I also take a complementary view of mental health, addressing vitamin deficiencies when relevant and incorporating evidence-based non pharmacological options. I'm well-versed in interpreting Genomind and GeneSight results, and I offer QB testing for ADHD in my practice. Fluent in English, Tagalog, and Bisaya, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and strive to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and real.
Facing life's challenges can be overwhelming, but you're not alone. Your well-being is important, and I'm here to offer a safe and empathetic space. Come as you are.
I specialize in working with individuals dealing with mood dysregulation, depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and attention issues. My goal is to support you in understanding and managing your mental health in a compassionate and holistic way.

With MD Supervision In my practice, I look for potential psychological influences from childhood to later years, approaching them from an interpersonal and attachment perspective. While I hold the capability to prescribe medications as a nurse practitioner, I equally value the significance of mindfulness in psychological healing and day-to-day decision-making.

I felt really helpless, but having someone listen to me and be objective really gave me perspective. This initial session was informative and very helpful. She was supportive, honest and realistic about things I’m experiencing.
