Hello! My name is Leah and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) based in California, I extend a warm greeting to you. My practice is dedicated to to working with young humans and the caregivers who show up for them everyday. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each families's unique needs, helping children and teens feel understood while empowering parents with practical support.
In our first session I'll seek to offer a safe and judgment-free space aimed to gain a better understanding of the initial issue at hand. I will also answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process and my personal style of therapy. Together, we will then collaborate on a plan and next steps.
I believe therapy is most effective when young people feel safe enough to be themselves, so I focus on meeting each child where they are- whether that's through conversation, play, creativity, humor, or simply sitting together in difficult moments. I balance that authentic connection with evidence-based care, tailoring treatment to each child's developmental needs, strengths, and goals. I also view parents and caregivers as essential partners in the therapeutic process, providing practical tools and collaboration that help progress continue long after the session ends.
My ideal clients are children and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, OCD, grief and loss, emotional regulation, self-esteem, or other challenges that are impacting their daily lives. I enjoy partnering with families who are motivated to better understand their child's emotional world and are open to learning new ways to support them. Whether a child is naturally hesitant to engage, I strive to meet them where they are. I believe every young person deserves a space where they feel understood, accepted , and empowered to grow at their own pace.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a goal-oriented and evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. We will work collaboratively to challenge and reframe irrational beliefs and develop more adaptive coping strategies.
Mindfulness in therapy involves the intentional focus on the present moment without judgment. I often use mindfulness techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, and body scans to help clients cultivate awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations. This practice encourages non-reactivity and acceptance, promoting a sense of calm, clarity, and self-compassion.
