LMFT, 1 years of experience
Hello! My name is Leah and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) based in California, I extend a warm greeting to you. My practice is dedicated to supporting adults as they navigate challenging life transitions. Whether you're facing career changes, relationship shifts, or personal growth journeys, I'm here to provide a safe space for exploration and healing. With a compassionate approach rooted in evidence-based techniques, I aim to empower you to overcome obstacles, find clarity, and foster resilience. Together, we'll navigate these transitions, fostering growth, and create pathways toward a more fulfilling life.
In our first session I'll seek to offer a safe and judgment-free space aimed to gain a better understanding of the initial issue at hand. I will also seek to answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process and my personal style of therapy. Together, we will then collaborate on a plan and next steps.
To quote zen master Shunryo Suzuki, “In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few.”
My passion lies in serving and empowering women on their unique journeys, especially considering the complex challenges they face in contemporary times. From societal expectations and gender roles to work-life balance and mental health stigma, women navigate a myriad of pressures.
For me, Humanistic therapy focuses on a person's inherent capacity for growth. My approach emphasizes empathy and genuineness to create a supportive environment where my clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a goal-oriented and evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. We will work collaboratively to challenge and reframe irrational beliefs and develop more adaptive coping strategies.
Mindfulness in therapy involves the intentional focus on the present moment without judgment. I often use mindfulness techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, and body scans to help clients cultivate awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations. This practice encourages non-reactivity and acceptance, promoting a sense of calm, clarity, and self-compassion.
