Warm
Authentic
Open-minded

Iam a licensed clinical social worker who has been working with children, youth and adults for the past eight years. My background is special needs case management and parenting as a school social worker. My "why" when I think about my work is this: listening to clients stories' and sitting with them in their path to building resiliency. I believe the client knows themselves and their strengths, I sit by and guide them to build insight about how they want to make changes for personal growth. I champion my clients as they build their capacity for vulnerability to develop their authentic selves. I consider it a huge privilege to do this very important work.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session we will discuss what brought you to seek help and your expectations of the therapeutic process. I will explain to you about what informed consent is and ask if you have any questions. I will discuss how communication with me works in-between sessions and discuss how many sessions I believe may be required. I want my clients to feel at ease with me as I believe in unconditional positive regard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths as a provider are the following: to be able to communicate about my skill set and for you to expect to be treated with respect and positive regard. I want for my clients to leave the session feeling validated and better understood then when they came to the session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with clients who experience challenges in their lives: the onset of depression, anxiety, those dealing with a loss of a loved one, those who have parenting challenges, and job or relationship stress to name a few. I also have experience with clients adjusting to divorce, school stress, or changes in friendships.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been practicing CBT for many years with children, teens and adults. I look at automatic thoughts and how it affects feelings and behavioral patterns. I offer clients worksheets to help acknowledge negative thoughts they have and how to re-frame these thoughts and we discuss this in session.

Compassion Focused

I help clients who need relationship support with significant others and immediate family. I explore how relationship patterns affect feelings of attachment and build trust. I teach clients how to label feelings and sit with uncomfortable thoughts. I offer compassion and validation for where the client is emotionally.

Strength-Based

I look for a clients' strengths and guide them to embrace their strengths as they build their capacity towards resiliency.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I help parents and children with relationship- building strategies. I offer practical tips on how to set limits and how to help your child express their emotions, and how to help them feel safe doing this.

EMDR

I am newly certified with this modality! I can help clients who need to process their trauma whether it be from childhood, or a phobia or those who have survived an accident or fire or other natural disaster.
