LMFT, 15 years of experience
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I earned a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from JFK University. I have 15 years of experience helping individuals cope with the challenges they face in their lives. I have a specialty in treating individuals struggling with alcohol and substance use. I also have been trained in Brainspotting techniques that reduce the effect traumas and other upsetting life events have on a person's ability to find the happiness they want from life.
In our first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy. We will talk about the challenges you are facing as well as the areas of life you feel confident about. From there we will decide what concerns to focus on and develop a plan to get you where you want to be.
I am very empathetic and non-judgmental. I feel like it is an honor for a someone to share their story and challenges with me, so I treat my clients with respect and care. Former clients have said that I am easy to talk to and many have referred other clients to me.
I love working with adults 18+ who are having troubles in their relationships. I help them to learn how to develop healthy communication, coping skills, and self-care habits. After all, happiness is an inside job; it starts with being happy with yourself.
I used Brainspotting therapy is a trauma-focused treatment that helps people access, process and release stored emotional pain by using specific eye positions, called brainspots, that are linked to unresolved experiences. Clients experience quick relief from overwhelming emotions that have caused pain for years and they report feeling calmer, more confident and emotionally regulated in a short time.
I use ACT to help people stop avoiding, denying or struggling with difficult emotions and instead accept them as a natural part of life.
I use CBT with clients to help them focus on the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I teach them how to identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors to improve their emotional well-being.
I used DBT to help people manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships.
I use grief therapy to help people process the emotional, physical and sometimes spiritual impact of losing someone or something significant.
