Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Master's degree from Alliant International University and I have been practicing for 4 years. I provide therapy to teens, adults, families, and couples, those who experience trauma, communication issues, boundaries, unhealthy relationships, and individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and more. I provide the appropriate therapeutic approach that will meet my patient’s needs and comfort level. Some of my therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Family Therapy, and psychodynamic theory. I am also in the process of becoming certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
In the first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can feel safe to share their concerns and goals for therapy. We will spend time getting to know each other, discussing what has brought them to therapy, and exploring their history, including any past experiences that may be relevant to our work together. I’ll explain my therapeutic approach and how I integrate EMDR, CBT, and psychodynamic theory to tailor the treatment to their unique needs. We’ll also discuss practical details, such as confidentiality, session structure, and what to expect in future sessions. The first session is an opportunity for clients to ask questions, express any concerns, and begin to establish a therapeutic relationship built on trust and collaboration. My goal is for clients to leave the first session feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
I bring both professional expertise and personal lived experience to my work, which deepens my empathy and compassion for my clients. I understand the complexities and challenges that come with healing, and I’m committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly heard and understood. My journey has fueled my dedication to helping others navigate their paths toward recovery and growth, and I approach each client with a deep sense of respect and care for their unique experiences.
In my therapy practice, I utilize psychodynamic theory to explore the unconscious processes and early life experiences that shape my clients' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By helping clients gain insight into these underlying influences, we work together to uncover and resolve deep-seated conflicts, leading to lasting emotional growth and self-awareness. Psychodynamic theory complements my use of other therapeutic modalities, providing a comprehensive approach to healing and personal development.
I have been using CBT for about 4 years and I will use this treatment method to help Clients with their cognitive distortions that are negatively affecting their emotions and behaviors, as I will help them identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. With this technique, I help clients develop healthier ways of thinking and coping with challenges.
In my practice, I incorporate EMDR to help clients process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. By using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, I assist Clients in reprocessing traumatic memories, reducing the emotional intensity associated with them, and fostering more adaptive coping mechanisms. EMDR is a key component of my approach to helping clients achieve deeper emotional healing and personal growth.
