Hello, my name is Susana Valdez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who works with individuals and specializes in adults who may be experiencing difficult life events, challenges or transitions. I practice a strength based approach to therapy, focusing on each individuals strengths and capacity for resiliency; while taking into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
Through a supportive and confidential environment, I assist clients in reducing emotional distress, identifying and understanding problematic behaviors and developing appropriate tools to improve their overall quality of life. I strive to create a client-centered, empathetic and judgement-free environment, that fosters insight, acceptance and self compassion.
I am skilled in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strength Based Therapy and Crisis Intervention.
I have helped individuals who are coping with various concerns, such as addiction, anxiety, depression, perinatal and postpartum depression, trauma and PTSD. I have also worked with adults who experience situational stressors such as relationship conflicts, bereavement or loss.

Susana Valdez has been my provider for several months. She has given me insight and techniques for depression and anxiety as well as marriage help. Her suggestions are helpful and always feel natural and practical. She asks the right questions and gives the right answers. I would recommend her to anyone.

She's very rude and she doesn't pay attention to the story told, and she keeps asking same questions as if she's not taking any notes. She's a horrible communicator. She has dogs and cats interfering with sessions. Horrible experience.

She made it easy for me to talk and really express my feelings and thoughts without feeling like I was being judged or I was weird. I really appreciate her opinions and her thoughts and solutions she has given me. I will continue to see her, she is a fantastic women.
