LCSW, 12 years of experience
Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my Master of Social Work degree from California State University of San Bernardino and have been practicing for over 13 years. I help adults ranging from young adults to the elderly, that are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions, to improve their quality of life and to become the best versions of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan with goals for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Over my 13 years of working with adults of all ages from various backgrounds, I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are to be able to create and hold a safe therapeutic alliance that allows my patients to be vulnerable enough in session to discover the changes they seek. I demonstrate my authentic self through use of humor, compassion, and empathy. I also create and develop treatment plans with the input of my patience to make sure their individualism is recognized and upheld.
I enjoy working with young adults who are in the midst of self-discovery and identifying who they want to be in the world around them. I enjoy working with someone who has suffered a loss and providing a safe and empathic space for them to honor the person(s) they have loss, while also working within the stages of grief. I also enjoy holding space for those that are suffering from anxiety and depression and feel overwhelmed with the day-to-day expectations of life and need support with identifying better ways to cope and restore or create balance.
I utilize CBT to support my patients with learning to Catch, Check, and Change(3C's) unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors that are supporting to cultivate disruption in their day to day lives in various forms such as anxiety, depression, or stress.
I use MI techniques to support patients with identifying and discovering their motivations for change. My patients are the exports in their own lives and have the ability to change, sometimes we all need a little help in finding or rediscovering the belief in self to change.
I use supportive therapy to create a trusting and safe alliance with my patience to support them with improving self-esteem, decreasing anxiety, depression, stress, and regulating impulses and negative thinking patterns by identifying ways to better cope with life stressors and challenges.
