I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker living in Southern California with a lot of work experience in the mental health field. I enjoy yoga, travel and am animal lover. I started doing virtual therapy in 2020 and enjoyed being able to connect and support people who were depressed and isolated during lockdown. I specialize in individual therapy for adults of all ages.
In our first session, I will focus on getting to know you and understanding your background, values, interests, and therapy expectations. Building rapport and developing trust are essential parts of the therapeutic process and any helping relationship. I know it takes courage to come to therapy and can be difficult to share our stories in session. I strive to make clients feel safe and respected and want you to be comfortable sharing your struggles and challenges with me. I strive to be genuine and transparent and have been described as "down to earth" and easy to talk to.
I have been working the the mental health field for over 25 years with a strong focus on treating depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness based stress reduction technigues to assist clients in reducing cogntive distortortions and self-defeating beliefs contributing to theirs symptoms. I have recently been trained in EMDR and find this to be a very helpful tool for treating clients with a history of complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

I am an EMDR trained therapist with experience providing trauma informed care to adults who have experienced complex trauma that is affecting their quality of life.
Working with clients to increase their awareness of cognitive distortion and self defeating beliefs that are contributing to feeling of depression and anxiety. I help them to replace negative thoughts with more rational self talk. Clients are encouraged to practice thought journaling and complete homework assignments between sessions.
I have been providing mindfulness based stress reduction to clients in individual therapy by educating them on the benefits of meditation and teaching them how to mindful of thoughts while focusing on breath or other body sensations, using grounding techniques and establishing daily practice time between sessions.
