New to Grow
I pride myself at being able to reach my child and adolescent clients where they are. This requires a therapist who is creative, innovative, and engaging, as well as skilled in numerous modalities. Above all I attempt to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clientele and work together on identified goals. I have worked in numerous setting including but not limited to private practice, day treatment, assessment centers, hospital and residential. I have dedicated my career to specializing in trauma and children’s mental health. It would be my pleasure to work with your or your child.
In our first session, I’ll review the intake information and discuss your history and goals for therapy. We will also work on establishing rapport and comfort ability within the therapeutic alliance.
What makes me unique is a certain realness that is not often demonstrated within the medical professions. I pride myself at being able to align with my clients, provide valuable validation and develop a strong therapeutic relationship equipped to address identified therapeutic goals.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work with varying clients of many different backgrounds and many different needs. My ideal client could present in many ways but the commonality would be a willingness to explore together.
I use CBT to collaborate with my clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, which in turn helps manage emotions and modify behaviors.
I have 7 years of DBT group facilitation as well individual DBT-based 1:1 psychotherapy. I combine individual therapy sessions, skills training, and collaborative goal-setting to help clients balance acceptance with the need for change.
I have focused my career primarily on children and adolescents. I enjoy utilizing play based therapy to help children express feelings and process challenges by following the child's lead in a safe, therapeutic environment.
I enjoy helping clients observe their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations without judgment and reap the benefits of implementing this practice.
As a gender affirming therapist, I use techniques to validate my client's gender identity, create a supportive space for exploration, and provide guidance on navigating related challenges.
