Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. I've been in the field of working with people for 15 years. I've worked with children, adolescents and adults in multiple settings including in-home, school, telehealth, and crisis response. The main goal of my work is ensuring client integrity, safety, and an honest working relationship. I like to tell my clients that it's like going on a road trip; you're driving the bus and I'm in the passenger seat helping with directions. If we miss a turn or take a detour, I'm here to help you get back on track. Ultimately you have control of where you want to go and how you get there. If this is your first time considering therapy, or you are having to look for a new provider, I understand it can be overwhelming. I want to assure you, I'm here to make the experience as easy as possible. If we meet and you find that we're not a good fit, please continue your search. It's so important to feel comfortable with the person you choose. A therapeutic relationship is vital in helping you reach your goals. You want to be able to "vibe" with your provider, whoever it may be.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we'll do some brief introductions, we'll review limits of confidentiality, informed consent and overall, what to expect. Prior to our appointment you'll be asked to complete an assessment to which we'll review and talk about the reason(s) you're seeking therapy. During this time if there are questions you are not ready to answer, we just move on and can address them at a later time. As I mentioned earlier, you are the driver and we go at your pace. There may be topics that come up that you are not ready to discuss and that is okay. I'm here to support you, not dictate or control the session. If you struggle with direct communication and something made you uncomfortable in our session, please reach out by email or through the app. We can process it and talk about it in a nonjudgmental space. It's so important to me that you feel safe and secure in our sessions and that your voice is heard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is empathy and understanding. Life can be beautiful, but it can also be ugly at times. I'm here to listen to both. I genuinely care about the people I work with and want to see the best possible outcome for them. The journey to get there is not a straight line nor perfect. I'm here to help you figure out how to pick up the pieces when it's difficult while also highlighting and celebrating the small wins. I believe in transparency as well. if you have a question for me, I will provide you with an honest answer. I myself have had therapy in the past; my life has not been perfect. I believe in the therapeutic process; despite having many friends in the therapy field, I found it be a great experience and very helpful. With that being said, I understand how it is to be vulnerable talking about your life with someone unfamiliar. I get it.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I've worked with an array of people in my time providing therapy. I come with an open mind and as humanly possible, free of judgment. Life is hard already and I don't want to make it more difficult for someone. My ideal client would be one who is ready to set goals and start the work. I'm here whenever you're ready to start. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm available some Saturdays if you need or prefer. Just let me know. Thank you, Julie

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT, we will focus on perceptions and thoughts in order to learn how those play a crucial role in regulating emotions, and therefore, better managing reactions.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With Solution Focused Brief Treatment, our focus will be primarily working together to identify solutions to the problem while also identifying patterns and boundaries.
