Welcome to M.A.D. Therapy, LLC! I am Misty Annette Diaz, PhD (abd), and we’re all M.A.D. here. Together we’ll move from survival mode into a life guided by confidence, connection, and change. As an LMFT and PhD (abd), helping relationships thrive is my ultimate goal. Lasting change begins with the relationship we have with ourselves. I actively challenge the patterns that keep clients stuck. I guide my clients out of survival mode into the present moment. I incorporate trauma informed yoga to reset the nervous system. I am EMDR trained. In-person & in-home case-by-case. Stay safe and talk soon.
My experience varies from severe mood disorders to generalized anxiety.
Niches with training: Suicidality and high-risk, LGBTQIA+, Military, Adoption, First responders .
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, quick to anger, or frustrated in your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel like something just isn’t working, but they can’t quite explain why. Often, these struggles come from early experiences where emotions were ignored, dismissed, or too much for the adults around us to handle.
As children, we learn fast: if expressing emotions doesn’t feel safe or accepted, we push them down. Over time, that emotional disconnection can turn into anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or anger that feels hard to control.
My work focuses on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that feels heavy, anger that shows up too fast, or relationship challenges that keep repeating — we’ll work together to untangle the deeper story and build healthier ways of coping, connecting, and feeling.
This isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been shut down for too long.
Healing begins when you have a safe place to explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and discover new ways forward. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, caregiver stress, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or struggling to balance the needs of others with their own wellbeing.
I especially enjoy working with individuals who are ready to gain insight into how past experiences influence their current relationships, emotions, and sense of self. Whether you are struggling with difficult family dynamics, people-pleasing, boundary setting, self-confidence, chronic stress, or navigating a significant life change, therapy can provide the support and tools needed to create meaningful change.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based approaches to help clients develop practical coping skills while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel both supported and challenged as you work toward your goals.
My goal is to help clients build confidence, strengthen relationships, improve emotional wellbeing, and create lives that feel more aligned with their values. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more empowered, resilient, and capable of navigating life's challenges with greater clarity and self-trust.
Overthinking Your Way to Underliving? Let’s Fix That.
When you look at your life, it seems great on paper. But lately you’ve been stuck — unable to decide whether to take the job, end the relationship, or even pick a restaurant for dinner. You’re waking up tired no matter how much you sleep, and there’s a worry running in the background that hasn’t let up in a while, and even the small decisions have started to feel exhausting.
This is what happens when anxiety and depression show up together, which they often do — especially in people used to solving problems by thinking harder. The anxious part of you keeps spinning, weighing every option. The depressed part of you is running low, flat, hard to motivate. Both at once means you’re keyed up and worn out in the same breath.
My job is to help you untangle that: give the overthinking somewhere to land, and the exhaustion somewhere to actually rest.
Together, we’ll work on:
• Separating perfectionism from your actual values
• Making peace with “good enough”
• Building tolerance for uncertainty
• Treating the anxiety and low mood together, since treating one without the other rarely sticks
This isn’t about pushing through on your own. Therapy gives you a place to slow the overthinking, address the anxiety and low mood together, and build coping skills that hold up under pressure.
I have over a decade of experience treating clients at the clinical level. As a former Army Chaplain, I have assisted Soldier and Family members in the most extreme circumstances - to include combat. As a fellow human being, I meet my clients on common ground to assist them in gaining traction and moving forward. I come beside people to help them see their strengths, capabilities, and new possibilities. I help people to find a ray of hope when their life is stuck at the midnight hour.
As your counselor, my priority and main goal is creating a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative journey centered on your growth and healing, one where we explore meaningful goals, deepen self-awareness, and make sense of your experiences. I will meet you where you are in your life journey and we will go through it at your pace, taking things as they come and building and enhancing skills to overcome not only the memories of the past but also current and future challenges.

I am a bilingual, licensed clinical social worker with over 21 years of experience working with individuals, parents, children, and families through community organizations. I specialize in working with women and children survivors of crime, domestic violence, and abuse issues. My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally unsteady, or unsure how to move forward — you don’t have to carry that alone.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of North Carolina State University. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and questions of direction or purpose. Many of the people I support feel capable and motivated — yet internally worn down, struggling to feel grounded, present, or confident in themselves.
My primary focus is helping clients stabilize emotionally and mentally — so you feel more anchored, regulated, and clear. From that place of steadiness, we begin to explore how you can grow into the fullest version of yourself, making the most of your strengths, values, and lived experience rather than trying to become someone you’re not.
Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing — it’s about creating a solid foundation where clarity, confidence, and meaningful change can naturally emerge. For those who find meaning and strength in their Christian faith, I welcome that as part of our work together — though spirituality is never required or assumed. You bring what matters to you, and we build from there.

Hello. Thank you for considering me!
You are, above all things, a human being and to be human is a wild experience. I think most of us are doing the best we can with what we have to work with, and you should be proud of yourself for your willingness to learn more. I see therapy as a process that organically unfolds towards deeper understanding and acceptance of who we are and what life is; from here we can shift how we relate to ourselves and life. My approach is grounded in humanistic, dynamic and holistic therapies. I often focus on the impacts of previous experiences, particularly childhood as early experiences set the foundation we use to navigate our lives.

If you ever feel that we are not a good fit, I will support you in finding someone who is. No one should have to feel alone when they are working to better their selves.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, after recognizing the urgent need for increased access to mental health care I established my private practice, Therapy by Ivy, PLLC. Hello, I am Shana Toney, a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over my lifetime I have always worked in human services. It was gratifying to work with clients in their time of need and support them through the process. Many of the clients would say they felt comfortable talking to me and I listened to their needs. Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be.
As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.
Hey, I'm Hailey. My approach to therapy is personable and down-to-earth. We can cuss, laugh, yell, or cry in session. Through my experience in inpatient, private practice, and shelters, I have learned that the most significant change occurs with learning concepts alongside practical application. Talking and processing are important, because it helps to identify patterns and recurring themes that are causing ongoing suffering; however, we need to also be able to sustain change by applying new ways of thinking and new skills.
Hi there! I'm so glad that you have taken the step to begin your journey to becoming the best version of yourself...
A little about me, I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kean University in Union, NJ. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington.

The past few years have been difficult for so many of us... Now that it seems we are beginning to return to some sense of normalcy, there's finally time to focus on personal growth and healing.
Let ME help YOU unpack... your emotional baggage and lighten your load. As Erykah Badu sings in her powerful song, "Bag Lady," it's time to let go of all those heavy bags you've been carrying and start fresh. I am a licensed professional counselor who supports women, mothers, and teens navigating stress, identity shifts, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not about fixing what is broken but reconnecting with who you are beneath survival mode. I bring together clinical skill, cultural awareness, and real life understanding to help clients feel seen, steady, and empowered.
Hello, my name is Teresa, practicing mental health for over 16 years working with the military population. Working as a middle school teacher in a lower socioeconomic area. This led to my desire to go back to school for my master’s degree in counseling psychology. Receiving my LPC licensure, led me to pursue my chemical dependency counselor license (LCDC). I began working as a substance abuse counselor with the US Army in substance abuse counseling. While working with the military I worked at a local hospital developing a program for civilians in chemical dependency. The need to work with individuals, and families including Service Members, led me to work as a contractor for private corporations. During this time, I received a certification in behavioral therapy to work with the autism spectrum population. Raised as a military dependent, then wife and mother, I experienced many aspects of different personalities. I was led to understand what it means to try to hide who you are to eventually become someone you may not recognize.
The goal is to have you see, life is wonderful, we go through the storm to appreciate the sunshine. The experience developed led me to work with addiction, anxiety, PTSD, and many other mental health issues. We are a beautiful bouquet with different views on life. Some techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychosocial therapeutic techniques.

You don't need to have it all figured out before you begin — that's okay. I know that first step can feel like the hardest one to take. All you need is the willingness to take it.
I help adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, chronic health conditions, pain, or major life changes reconnect with themselves and feel more in control of their lives.
I began my social work career in 2006 in medical social work, hospice, and home health, supporting individuals and families through chronic illness, serious health concerns, loss, and difficult transitions. These experiences shaped my understanding of the deep connection between physical health and emotional well-being.
I became a mental health provider because I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, supported, and empowered. I'm passionate about helping people regain a sense of themselves, find hope, and develop tools to move forward through trauma, stress, and difficult circumstances. Sometimes life simply becomes too much, and it's okay to say, "This is hard," and ask for help.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant-in-Training. I primarily work with adults navigating life transitions, chronic health conditions, pain, medical trauma, and traumatic experiences.
My approach is integrative and individualized, drawing from EMDR, Brainspotting, clinical hypnosis, IFS-informed and parts-based approaches, Ego State Therapy, Imaginal Nurturing, and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), tailored to each client's needs and goals.
I believe wellness is holistic — we don't get sick one way, and we don't get well one way. Mental and physical health are deeply connected, and I'm here to support your whole-person well-being through counseling, so you can get back to being you and enjoy life again.
