I offer telehealth counseling for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral challenges. Many of the individuals I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to move forward despite wanting meaningful change.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed principles, and person-centered care. I help clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical skills to regulate distress, improve communication, and increase self-awareness. For clients navigating trauma or relational wounds, I prioritize stabilization and emotional safety before engaging in deeper processing.
I strive to balance warmth with thoughtful directness. Sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented, yet client-paced. I work alongside clients to clarify their goals, strengthen coping strategies, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop healthier relational patterns. My focus is not only symptom reduction but sustainable growth that extends beyond the therapy room.
Above all, I aim to create a steady, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Hello Friend! Welcome to my practice, Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC!
I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years. I've worked in private practice and in the clinical hospital setting and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards that I make sure to uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of that box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see it using a different perspective.
Everyone at one point or another in life experiences a host of unbearable stressors which may leave one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', which feels like anxiousness, fatigue, and perhaps sadness; as if our unique threshold has been completely depleted.
Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control, though if comes with temporary tiredness. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold of your wellbeing and you stay stuck there, feeling uncomfortable, which interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things' and you are left in solitude.
I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment.
Respectfully, Monica Pina
I have been a therapist for 10 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and helping others. Clients shouldn't have to be in therapy forever! Together, we'll co-create a balanced approach combining active listening with practical techniques, helping you reclaim your narrative and overcome obstacles. My clinical and holistic approach aims for deeper alignment and fulfillment—think more water, less soda.
As an LCSW, I'm trained in EMDR, certified in Theta Healing, Reiki, Transformational Life Coaching, and Therapeutic Touch, and am a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to explore your wants, needs, and emotions. You know yourself best, and our work is about uncovering your truths rather than imposing mine.
Together, we'll determine the tools and approaches that best suit your needs, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and empowered. The goal is to help you confidently manage challenges independently over time. We'll walk side-by-side, with you gradually taking the lead and me offering steady support. If you have pressing concerns, those always take precedence.
Our sessions focus on understanding HOW you think, not just WHAT you think, exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs and emotions. You'll leave with clear, actionable steps, such as mindfulness exercises, creative writing prompts, meditation, and breathwork techniques to regulate emotions and reclaim your narrative.
Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" but enhancing alignment and fulfillment while overcoming obstacles. By focusing on your goals and measuring progress, we can eliminate stigma, leaving shame behind and empowering you toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.

I am licensed in Texas with over 20 years of Therapy experience. I have experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I received my M.S at William Carey University in Psychology. My treatment approach is CBT, solution-focused, and client-centered. Howdy! I am honored to be a part of your journey of healing and helping you become the best version of yourself. I have a passion for building deeply rooted connections with all of my clients. My experience as a special education teacher, school administrator, high school counselor, and special education counselor for 30 years has provided me the knowledge and skills to work with your child, adolescent, and even adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, addiction, or PTSD. Understanding how these challenges ultimately affect behaviors in the classroom, at home, and in the workplace environments, help fuel my passion to connect, learn and problem solve with my clients and their families on an interpersonal level in an effort to build hope and resilience. I received my education and training in understanding behavioral, emotional, learning and psychological disorders, as well as professional school counseling and mental health counseling from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas.
