My name is Michael and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. As a psychotherapist, my vocation is supporting individuals, working together on your journey toward self-discovery, healing, and learning to thrive from the comfort and convenience of your home or office, and when it is most convenient for you. My work commonly addresses individuals experiencing difficulties in life due to problems stemming from difficulties early in life, anxiety, depression, major life changes, academic challenges (undergrad, graduate, post-graduate studies), the discomfort of feelings that go along with hypervigilance, procrastination, and perfectionism. Sometimes, we need help from someone new, experienced with developing collaborative relationships to find strengths we take for granted, and to embrace that we can be the person we’re meant to be. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, or major life changes? Let’s talk! I do not prescribe medication, and I do not see clients under the age of 18.

I’m Cindy Watson, LISW-CP, and I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you can be heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Reaching out for therapy can be difficult, and I want my clients to feel comfortable being their authentic selves while we work together toward meaningful change. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, stress, and other concerns that can make life feel overwhelming. I also have experience helping clients navigate difficult relationships, self-esteem challenges, and patterns that may be keeping them from living the life they want. My approach is compassionate, practical, and individualized. I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I meet you where you are and collaborate with you to identify your goals and the tools that will be most helpful. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, while tailoring treatment to each person's unique needs and experiences. My goal is not simply to help you get through a difficult season, but to help you better understand yourself, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen your relationships, and recognize the strengths you already possess. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start wherever you are and take it one step at a time.

I am licensed in three states (NY, NC, and SC) and have 8 years total of clinical experience. My career started in North Carolina when I got my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Carolina University and completed my internship serving as a counselor in an inpatient substance use treatment facility. After that, most of my career was spent serving diverse populations in New York City, in multiple settings of care including substance use treatment and community mental health treatment facilities, and private practice settings. I worked with a heavily diverse, international, and multicultural population from many backgrounds. Over time I had immersive experience building a niche working with LGBTQ+ clients, with a particularly strong following of gay men navigating complexities in their identity, sexuality, and interpersonal relationships. I also worked with clients from all walks of life navigating concerns around trauma, addiction, mood disorders, major life transitions, and concerns regarding intimate relationships. I consider my counseling approach to be ecletic. I incorperate concepts from many different modalities and adapt them to the unique needs and personalities of my clients. Some of the major counseling theories I draw from include Person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognative Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, and many others.

Hi there! I am Stephen Kovacs a licensed clinical social worker with 5 years of experience helping adults who feel constantly “on edge” from anxiety and panic—always braced for the next shoe to drop, even when life looks fine from the outside. I’m licensed as an LISW-CP in South Carolina and an LCSW in North Carolina and Virginia and practice predominantly in the evenings via telehealth. My focus is on high-responsibility adults who are tired of living in survival mode: racing thoughts, worst‑case scenarios, physical symptoms like a racing heart or tight chest, and the burnout that comes from holding everything together for everyone else. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what anxiety and panic are doing in your body and your life, and build concrete tools to manage spirals, reduce avoidance, and feel more in control day to day—not with fluffy advice, but with step‑by‑step, doable changes.

Hi, I’m Kristina. I’m a licensed therapist who takes a relational, trauma-informed approach to healing. My work integrates evidence-based practices—including CBT and mindfulness-based strategies—with thoughtful insight to help clients move out of survival mode and into greater self-trust and stability. I believe therapy should be both practical and transformative. Our sessions are a space to slow down, untangle patterns, and build tools that create meaningful change in your everyday life. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, or relationship challenges, we’ll work collaboratively to understand what’s shaped your story and develop new ways of responding with clarity and confidence. Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and direct. I bring compassion and humor into the room while also offering honest feedback and actionable strategies. Hi, I’m Tara. I’m a professional counselor with 19 years of experience helping children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I became a therapist because I’ve always had a heart for helping people feel seen, heard, understood, and supported—especially during seasons when life feels overwhelming, relationships feel difficult, or you simply aren’t sure what comes next. My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I want therapy to feel like a safe place where you can show up as you are without fear of judgment. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly where to begin. We’ll start where you are and figure out the next steps together. I work with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, parenting challenges, and communication struggles. I use an individualized approach that may incorporate CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and client-centered therapy. I am also a Registered Play Therapist, and working with children and families is an important part of my practice. I use play and developmentally appropriate approaches to help children express emotions, develop coping skills, and work through experiences in ways that feel natural to them. One phrase that guides much of my work is “Awareness creates choice.” When we begin to understand ourselves, our patterns, and our experiences differently, we create opportunities to make different choices. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling better, but also understanding yourself better and feeling more confident navigating whatever comes next.

Hello! My name is Max Croteau and I have had the pleasure of being a licensed professional counselor for almost 10 years now. In this time, I have been able to mold my style of understanding, accepting while also challenging and motivational into a successful model of growth and change for those who choose to work with me. I truly am a believer that therapy can sometimes be a side-by-side process, or it can be a process where one guides and the other follows, but ultimately the choice is up to you. I don’t want you to live a life that I tell you to live. I want to help you find a life that is truly a genuine fit for yourself and one that you can see yourself living without even having to think about it. I’ve specialized in addiction, OCD, trauma therapy, family and couples counseling and various other topics in the world of mental health. One important factor that I have found is that each person has their own individual story and their journey will be just as individualized. No matter how similar, we are all different. A cookie cutter approach to the rest of your life is not something that you will get from me. I will truly meet you where you are and work with you every step of the way to achieve the success that you are looking for. I always guarantee every person I work with that therapy may not be easy, but in the end, it will be incredibly worthwhile. I’d love to start and/or continue that journey. Growth has no final destination, just the journey. It’s up to you what path you’d like to take.

Welcome! I am Robyn. These days many people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and depressed. Sometimes they feel as if no matter what they do, it isn't enough and either they or those around them are never happy with themselves. How about you? Are you trying to manage to be the best parent, spouse, and employee that you can be? Are you struggling with a recent life transition or the loss of a loved one or relationship? Are you lying awake at night reviewing the list of things you think you should have accomplished? Or are you ruminating on what you said to someone, how you said it, and what you should have done differently? You are not alone! Many people experience these feelings and you do not have to continue to feel like this! You CAN FEEL BETTER! I work with adults of all ages who are struggling with these things by providing a safe space to talk about and work through these issues. I strive to empower them to discern their strengths, their priorities, and the barriers to feeling better. Once we’ve done that, I help them find ways to address those barriers and build new coping skills they can use to overcome the challenges of anxiety, depression, managing change, and people-pleasing. Change is not easy! I am impressed by your courage in taking the first step of asking for help to start your journey toward feeling better! You deserve to have someone skilled and trustworthy to guide you to grow and heal. Many people appear "fine" on the outside while internally struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, overwhelm, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns. You may find yourself overthinking, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from the present, or constantly putting pressure on yourself just to keep up. Therapy can help you slow down, better understand yourself, regulate emotions more effectively, and change patterns to create a greater sense of balance, clarity, and connection in your life. I help clients gain self-awareness, stop obsessive compulsive cycles, manage anxiety and overwhelm, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and break free from unhelpful patterns. I offer in-person and virtual therapy. In-person therapy is available on Monday's at my office in South Tampa. I create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences and work to make lasting change. If this sounds like work you're ready to engage in, book an appointment or contact me to set up a consultation call and we'll see if we're a good fit!

I have several years of experience treating individuals, families, and adolescents using a holistic, empathic, and trauma-informed approach. Watching friends and family struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues fueled my passion for helping those who struggle with these difficulties from a place of understanding, patience, and empathy. I received a BA in psychology first, which led to obtaining a substance abuse certificate. I gained experience working with families and individuals and, after some time, I was ready to further my education and obtained a Master of Social Work. This helped me expand my clinical skills and learn more targeted therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychoanalytical care, and art therapy. I found these approaches are a great synthesis of neuroscience, trauma, and creativity.

Hi there — I’m Madison (Gabriel) Long, LCMHC, NCC, a licensed therapist based in North Carolina and South Carolina, and I’m passionate about helping people move from feeling stuck into genuinely living. My training includes trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), child-centered play therapy (CCPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and I’m currently pursuing certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Whether you’re navigating the unique emotional terrain of pregnancy or postpartum, healing from past trauma, or managing the ever-changing demands of parenting and family life, I’m here with you — through the ups, downs, and in-between. I offer virtual therapy so you can meet with me from wherever you are in NC, right when it works for you. I do this work because I believe growth happens when we feel safe enough to face what we’ve been avoiding, and strong enough to embrace the next step. Not only have I been where many of you are, I’ve also had the privilege to see clients emerge from seasons of pain, parenting chaos, trauma’s shadow, and come into more grounded, more resilient selves — and it is an honor to be part of that process. If you’re ready to start feeling grounded, nourished, and confident again — I’d be honored to walk beside you.

Maybe you’re the person everyone counts on, the one who handles things, keeps going, and appears to have it all together. But underneath that, you may be anxious, emotionally exhausted, constantly overthinking, or struggling in relationships. You may find yourself people-pleasing, feeling guilty for saying no, putting everyone else’s needs before your own, or wondering why the same patterns keep showing up even when you know you want something different. I work with adults who want to understand where these patterns come from and begin changing them. Often, our work explores how family dynamics, childhood experiences, and past relationships have shaped the way you view yourself, manage emotions, set boundaries, and connect with others. This isn’t about blaming the past. It’s about understanding what you learned to do to cope or feel connected and deciding what still serves you today. For some clients, these patterns become even more noticeable after becoming a parent. Parenthood can bring up unexpected emotions about your own childhood, your relationship with your parents, and what you want to carry forward or intentionally do differently with your own family. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), and EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. My approach is warm, collaborative, and genuine, with a focus on helping you understand yourself more deeply, heal from experiences you may still be carrying, and create healthier patterns in your relationship with yourself and others.

I work with women navigating life transitions, including changes in relationships, family roles, and health. These experiences can bring anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the effects of trauma into focus, and can influence how thoughts, emotions, and the body interact. As a yoga teacher and yoga therapist for over 25 years, mindfulness is a natural part of my work and informs how I understand and approach the mind body connection. I integrate mindfulness based stress reduction, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, and somatic therapy into sessions in a way that supports awareness and emotional regulation. My training as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, Florida, South Carolina and Delaware allows me to bring these approaches together in a way that is both clinically grounded and also responsive to your experience.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
