I take a holistic perspective with my clients to address the health of body, mind, and spirit. I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a crucial part of the healing process, and that techniques and therapy approaches must “fit” the client in order to be effective—there is no “one size fits all” therapy. My goal, as a counselor and therapist, is to deeply understand my client, and when this happens we are able to identify areas of life that need to be changed, and ways of going about doing that. Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained therapist and a client who wants to change.

Hi, I'm Dr. Lauren! I have over 10 years of clinical experience working primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and selective mutism. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
After completing a neuropsychology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital Lurie Center for Autism during the COVID-19 pandemic, I knew I wanted to return home to Philly. I went on to complete a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Autism Research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where I later worked as a staff psychologist for nearly four years.
I'm now excited to bring this experience to my own private practice, where I can focus on providing thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual and family. In my free time, I enjoy singing, playing golf, going out to eat, and spending time with my fiancé and 4-year-old rescue chihuahua-mix, Nugget.
Welcome, and congratulations on beginning your therapeutic journey. I am an LCSW with over 20 years in the field whose approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe in meeting you where you are, helping you build insight and resilience at your own pace. I was drawn to this work out of a deep curiosity about human connection and a desire to help others navigate life's complexities. It has been so rewarding to help others achieve peaceful solutions to issues in their lives.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I congratulate you on starting your journey, and I’m here to make sure that it is meaningful to you. My approach is client-centered and integrative. I believe in empowering individuals to make positive changes and lead fulfilling lives. I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, develop coping strategies, and achieve their goals.
I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.
With over two decades of dedicated service in student support and mental health, I bring a wealth of experience to my the clients that I provide service to. In addition to my work in a high school setting, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the past 11 years, allowing me to provide a high level of clinical expertise and therapeutic support to a diverse range of clients. My approach is grounded in empathy, evidence-based practices, and a deep understanding of human development.
Additionally, I specialize in the area of Sport Counseling. Recognizing the unique psychological demands of performance and athletics, I have attained an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Sport Counseling. This specialized training allows me to support athletes and high-performers in managing performance anxiety, building mental resilience, and balancing the pressures of competitive environments with personal well-being.
Whether you are navigating life transitions, seeking to improve your mental performance, or looking for clinical support, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals in a safe and supportive environment.
