I am a counselor who embodies empathy, compassion, and motivation in guiding my clients toward healing and self-discovery. My training in TEAM CBT, developed by Dr. David Burns, emphasizes the transformative power of confronting negative thoughts to drive positive emotional change. This method, rooted in the principle that 'The Truth Shall Set You Free,' focuses on identifying and challenging cognitive distortions. Additionally, as a Christian Counselor, I seamlessly integrate Christian principles with traditional talk therapy and TEAM CBT, ensuring that these approaches complement rather than conflict. This holistic blend allows for a therapy experience where clients address their mental health challenges and find deeper meaning and alignment with their spiritual beliefs.

Hi, I’m Candace — a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Community Counseling from Lakeland University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from UW-Stevens Point. I’m a straightforward, no-fluff therapist who believes the best work happens when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. My clients often tell me I’m not a “typical” therapist — and they’re right. I’m progressive, direct, sometimes sarcastic, and always focused on creating a space where you don’t have to pretend. I work well with people who want honesty, humor, and real conversations — whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, burnout, identity exploration, or just feeling stuck. I’m an animal lover (my dogs are basically coworkers), I have tattoos, and I’m not easily rattled. You won’t shock me, and you don’t have to filter yourself here. If you’re looking for a therapist who keeps it real, creates a safe space, and isn’t afraid to challenge you when needed — with compassion and maybe a little dry humor — I might be a good fit.

My name is Jeffrey, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan, and a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio. I have also been an ordained Lutheran pastor since 1989. My professional career began as an Associate Pastor in a Lutheran church in northwest Ohio, where I focused on youth ministry, Christian Education, and pastoral counseling. I entered Social Work in 1995 when I began work as a Family Worker in a residential facility for hard to place juvenile offenders, and then worked in a few outpatient counseling agencies providing mental health and substance use disorder services. I have experience working with people of all ages on general mental health issues, such as managing depression and anxiety, and have specialized in the areas of PTSD recovery and domestic violence and sexual abuse victims and offenders. Throughout my counseling career, I have maintained activity in ministry. I was trained in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and also have had training as a Spiritual Director. My counseling approach is generally non-directive, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in a Solution Focused, Client Centered frame work. I can incorporate spirituality as much or as little as the client desires, from not referencing spirituality at all to fully engaging the spiritual dimension of life. As a caring, empathetic listener, people find it easy to talk with me and be open about what needs attention in their lives. I look forward to working with you!

I'm Cathleen a licensed social worker in the state of Michigan. I have been a MSW for over 30 years and practicing therapy for over 10 years. As a therapist I aim to create a safe, judgment free space for self-exploration, discovery, and healing. This is best realized when a client and therapist can work collaboratively. Each of us is a work in progress learning to navigate an ever-changing and complex world. Every stage in our life offers obstacles and hurdles; it is how we respond to them that determines the outcome. In the brilliant words of Ram Dass “We’re all just walking each other home.” It would be my honor and privilege to walk with you on your journey. On a personal note; I love thrifting, cooking vegan food and spending time with my senior rescue dog Gypsy.

Hi, my name is Angie and I’m a master’s licensed social worker and graduated from the University of Michigan. I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, parents, grief, domestic violence, substance misuse, and depression. I am certified in infant mental health and perinatal mental health. We are all on this earth together and we need each other. I believe therapy should be a sounding board to help you work through your thoughts and feelings.

Trauma that begins in childhood or within family systems can leave lasting imprints on how you feel, relate, and move through the world. When the people meant to protect you caused harm—or failed to protect you—your nervous system learned to survive in ways that may now feel confusing, exhausting, or out of your control. You may struggle with emotional numbness, panic, hypervigilance, dissociation, difficulty trusting others, or a persistent sense of shame that doesn’t belong to you. I specialize in working with adults impacted by complex PTSD, childhood trauma, family trauma dynamics, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. Many of my clients are outwardly capable and resilient, yet internally overwhelmed—carrying wounds that were never given space to heal. Therapy with me is not about rushing your process, reliving every detail of your past, or being told to “move on.” It is about safety, pacing, and respect. My work is trauma-informed and nervous-system focused, helping you understand your trauma responses without judgment and reconnect with your body in a way that feels grounding rather than overwhelming. Together, we gently separate who you are from what happened to you, allowing the parts of you shaped by survival to finally rest. In our work, we focus on restoring a sense of safety, strengthening boundaries, reducing panic and dissociation, healing relational wounds, and rebuilding trust in yourself. You are not broken—your responses make sense given what you’ve endured. Healing is possible, and you do not have to do it alone.
