Hello! I am an artist, yoga teacher, raft guide and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) practicing in Washington and Michigan for the past 10 years. I am passionate about the power of nature and creativity in the healing process and love supporting people as they become the best version of themselves. My practice is trauma informed, action oriented, and centered around your goals for wellness. Some of my specialties include women’s issues, LGBTQ+, trauma recovery, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, mindfulness, self-actualization, spiritual identity, personal alignment, life balance, living with chronic conditions, clarifying purpose and drive, exploring meaning, healthy boundaries and reconnecting with self through nature and art. Our sessions will meet you where you’re at and hold compassionate, grounded space for your process. Depending on your needs and interests we have an exciting toolkit to draw from including expressive art therapy, adventure therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy, yoga for trauma recovery, emotional freedom technique, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll introduce ourselves and identify the issues you'd like to focus on in therapy. We can explore which modalities you're most interested in and collaborate on a treatment plan and schedule that's right for you. At the end of each session we'll set an intention, goal, or exercise to be processed at our following appointment - bringing insight from your therapy into everyday life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am here to meet you in this present moment and empower you to take tangible steps toward where you hope to be. I offer a decade of experience in a range of clinical settings from crisis response and public health clinics to residential and retreat settings oriented around nature, art and adventure therapies. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an artist and raft guide - and I was so inspired by the healing power of nature and creativity that I wanted to share this with others! I love learning and have a wide range of modalities available to suit my clients needs and goals. We will explore the relationship of thought, action and feeling through creative, mind-body methods that allow you to access the stored experiences and limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you have a desire to heal and grow, but feel a little stuck, this is the place for you! My clients are seeking a deeper understanding of the patterns that hold them back from their dreams. They may doubt they are capable of self love because of their past experiences, but are curious about giving it a try. Or, perhaps they are ready to level up in their lives and need to evolve their mindset and lifestyle to empower their growth. My clients are interested in exploring creative, mind-body modalities toward healing. Often my clients imagine a more compassionate world and are curious about how they can contribute.

My treatment methods

Somatic

Somatic Therapy taps into the relationship between the mind and body to find healing. We explore Expressive Art Therapy, Yoga for Trauma Recovery, Breathwork and Mindfulness to identify and release trauma held in the body and regulate the nervous system. As an artist and yoga teacher for over 20 years, I find these to be powerful methods to find calm and cultivate self awareness.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is all about tapping into your inherent motivation to bring about the change you desire in your life! This is a collaborative method that celebrates and encourages the subtle ways you are living toward your dreams while increasing motivation to make greater gains. Through MI we also discover limiting beliefs that are holding you back from your full potential and learn to practice more empowering self talk.

Transpersonal

Through creative expression and mindfulness we make space for you to explore a deeper sense of spirituality, intuition, and your bigger picture purpose.

Attachment-based

Understanding the ways that our earliest relationships shape the way we give and receive love provides powerful insight. By working with our attachment style we can become more empowered and less reactive in our relationships, and cultivate healthy and effective love languages with ourselves and our cherished humans.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Understanding the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and actions equips us to make strategic adjustments in our focus and thought content that can ripple through our lives in powerful ways.
