My clients are a diverse group of smart, caring, and kind people who feel weighed down by depression, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, or other challenges. Despite their many strengths, they sometimes struggle to build and maintain close relationships, face obstacles in their careers, or find it hard to achieve their goals despite the best of intentions. This can wear away at their self-worth and confidence, making everything feel even harder. Though therapy can sometimes feel heavy, it doesn't have to be all the time. My goal is to make it uplifting, engaging, and even fun—something to look forward to. Clients often describe me as calm, encouraging, nonjudgmental, and funny. I'm a licensed counselor with 15 years of experience specializing in depression, anxiety, ADHD, and relationships.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is really just a conversation. I want to hear what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure to dive into anything heavy right away. I'll ask questions to understand your story, share a bit about how I work, and together we'll start mapping out a plan. By the end, you should feel heard, have a clearer sense of direction, and hopefully feel a little lighter walking out than you did walking in.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a rare combination of warmth and directness—I'll meet you where you are, but I'm not afraid to gently challenge you when it matters. My experience spans 15 years and multiple modalities, so I tailor my approach to what actually works for you rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I'm especially effective with clients who are intellectually curious and want to understand the "why" behind their patterns, not just get surface-level coping skills. Clients consistently tell me they feel genuinely understood and that our sessions are the one place they don't have to perform or hold it together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You're someone who knows something needs to change but maybe isn't sure where to start—or you've tried before and it didn't stick. You're smart, self-aware, and probably a little hard on yourself. You might be dealing with anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that's sapped your motivation, ADHD that makes it feel impossible to follow through on what matters most, relationship patterns that keep repeating, or a life transition that has you feeling unmoored. You don't need someone to tell you what to do—you need a thought partner who can help you get unstuck and moving again.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I I use CBT to help clients identify and restructure unhelpful thinking patterns that drive anxiety, depression, and other challenges. In session, we work together to examine automatic thoughts, test assumptions against evidence, and build practical coping strategies that clients can apply between sessions. I emphasize a collaborative, structured approach while keeping things conversational and grounded in each client's real-life experiences.

Motivational Interviewing

I I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change, particularly around health behaviors and life transitions. Rather than directing or persuading, I draw out each client's own motivations and values through reflective listening, open-ended questions, and affirming their strengths. This approach helps clients move toward change at their own pace while feeling respected and understood throughout the process.

Positive Psychology

I integrate positive psychology to help clients build on their existing strengths rather than focusing solely on problems. We work together to identify character strengths, cultivate gratitude, and develop habits that promote resilience and well-being. This approach complements traditional therapy by helping clients not just reduce distress but actively create a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I use CBT-I to help clients overcome chronic insomnia by addressing the thoughts and behaviors that perpetuate sleep difficulties. We work on structured techniques like sleep restriction, stimulus control, and cognitive restructuring of unhelpful beliefs about sleep. CBT-I is highly evidence-based,helping clients develop lasting, healthy sleep patterns without ongoing reliance on sleep aids.

Family Therapy

I work with families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships by examining how each member contributes to the family dynamic. We identify patterns that keep the family stuck and collaboratively develop healthier ways of interacting. My approach is practical and goal-oriented, helping families build skills they can use long after therapy ends.
