Drawing from evidence-based practices, my aim to help clients build resilience, improve self-understanding, and develop practical tools for managing life's challenges. Whether you're struggling with past experiences, current stressors, or seeking personal development, I'm dedicated to walking alongside you with empathy and professional guidance. My philosophy is to help each client feel a little better everyday, by showing, teaching, or assigning homework related to thier current life stressors, whether that be low self-esteem, low self-confidence, and to empower each client to be a version of themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Looking back on my years as a clinical therapist, clients can expect from the intake assessment that this clinician will ask many questions about them such as background information, family, other forms of therapy (if there are any), as well as current medical history, past medical history and diagnoses, and current and past symptoms and why they are seeking therapy. Also, this clinician will be able to share her life circumstances as they apply to the client.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have many years of sobriety, I have 28 years off cigarettes, and 18 years off caffiene pop, such as Pepsi, Coke, and Dr. Pepper. I know what it is like to be depressed, sad, and feeling like the lonliest person on earth. I will walk beside you, hold you hand, if necessary, and be driven to help the client be their best version of themselves. I was married for over 20 years, been divorced over 23 years, with four adult children, and 5 grandchildre. The client is the expert in their life, and I will listem empathetically and guide them to become better.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

The Psychoeducation method helps suport client by educating them about symptoms and their mental health. This helps to empower the clients to be better today than they were yesterday. It is very effective - although all education is important especially when dealing with mental health issues, grief, trauma, and ADHD issues.

Christian Counseling

This type of counseling integrates Christian beliefs, with psychological principles, helps clients to be able to promote their spiritual beliefs, and aids in emotional healing, by addressing the mental health issues with faith, most clients like to incorporate prayer, scripture, and focuses on what their God, and belief is for them, it can encourage them to take personal ownership of their decision making abilities.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT offers the client a change to look at their negative core beliefs and a chance to change their behavior along with their thinking, clients are challenged to work on their negative and anxious thinking by being able to work on assignments related to this thinking and their behaviors

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This type of therapy help clients to focus on the emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and how to effectively communicate their needs through this type of therapy. ADHD is an emotional regulation where one is unable to control "their normal" emotions, and DBT can help them by teaching them skills to balance between changing the behaviors they can and accepting the behaviors they cannot change.

Couples Counseling

Couple's counseling can be effective if the couple realizes that the relationship is the client and not each other.
