I am dedicated to liberation therapy and I reject all systems of oppression including but not limited to white supremacy, racism, and sexism.
When I was in grad school I was asked this question: why do you want to do therapy? My answer was immediate: "I want to alleviate suffering!" A more experienced clinician shared a perplexing truth with me: sometimes you can't, you can just sit with the person through it. Over the years I have been honored to hold space for my clients to share their stories of courage and pain. I started to see what she meant, and revised my motto: I want to alleviate suffering and when I can’t I want to create a soft place to land.
So, "Why therapy?” For all those who have forgotten their strength and just need a soft place to land. Using a blended approach of top therapy models, I partner with Clients to create lasting change and find freedom in ways that feel authentic to each person. Together we will learn new concepts, practice practical skills, and transform self-limiting patterns. Life can be hard. I want to help. Let’s talk!

Hello,
My name is Tierra Evans. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor and Mental Health Clinician. I have been a licensed Social Worker for nine years and counting. I am a Texas native and have traveled extensively. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic modalities. My passion is to nurture and cultivate positive energy and high vibrations throughout my life journey.
Services are provided within a short-term, goal-oriented framework. Treatment typically consists of 6–8 sessions. Progress is formally reviewed around session six, at which point the client and therapist mutually determine whether to conclude services, extend treatment for an additional time-limited phase, or pursue other appropriate options.
Are you looking to improve your communication, strengthen your relationships, and manage conflict more effectively? Interpersonal skills are the foundation of healthy and thriving relationships—both personal and professional. If you are recovering from an emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationship and feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can also help you rebuild your identity, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier relationship patterns.
I am a relationship counselor, currently providing individual and group therapy for adults aged 18 and older. I specialize in helping clients improve their relationship with themselves through personal growth and the development of healthier interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, anger management, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills. Many individuals struggling in unhealthy, emotionally abusive, or narcissistic relationship dynamics often lose their sense of self, confidence, voice, and emotional balance within those relationships. A major focus of my work is helping clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild healthier patterns, and strengthen how they show up in relationships with others.
How you relate to yourself impacts every relationship in your life. When you learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in healthier ways, your relationships often become stronger, more balanced, and more fulfilling. This growth can improve confidence, reduce stress, and support overall emotional wellness.
I provide a supportive environment where clients can increase self-awareness, create meaningful change, and develop healthier connections with themselves and others. Schedule an appointment with me to begin your wellness journey.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Maryland, specializing in trauma-informed care for Adults, Children, and Families. As a faith-based therapist, I blend evidence-based mental health practices with spiritual insight to support healing of the whole person—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. My approach helps clients uncover their emotional strength, deepen their spiritual understanding, and rebuild communication and self-worth. Together, we’ll walk a path that nurtures resilience, restores identity, and strengthens your connection with both yourself and God.
If years of therapy, medication, books, and coping skills haven't created the change you're looking for, it may be because you've been treating the symptoms instead of the patterns producing them. Many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated, wondering why they understand their struggles yet continue to repeat the same thoughts, emotional reactions, relationship dynamics, or behaviors. My approach focuses on identifying and disrupting the developmental patterns driving those experiences by working with the brain and nervous system where they were formed and continue to be reinforced. Rather than teaching you how to better manage the same struggles, my goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting transformation so you can move forward with greater freedom, clarity, and confidence.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. Many people are grappling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, which can make daily life extremely challenging. If you're reading this, you or someone you care about is probably searching for a way to improve their situation. I’m here to assist in that journey.
I’m skilled in addressing a broad spectrum of mental health issues, but I particularly focus on anxiety, depression, and trauma. This specialization allows me to tailor more effective and personalized treatment plans. I prioritize truly understanding your experiences and perspectives, and I provide strategies that are crafted to meet your specific needs.
Your well-being is my utmost priority. Using proven methods and drawing on extensive experience, I am dedicated to supporting your path to healing and self-discovery. Choosing to work with me means you're not just hiring a professional; you're engaging with someone who is committed to helping you find hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
On paper, you have it all together. Whether you're managing a team, pouring everything into your career, or navigating the unique pressures of running a business, you're the reliable person everyone turns to. But constantly solving problems for others often means you're left carrying your own stress with no one to support you.
Beneath that capable exterior, you might be carrying the heavy weight of anxiety and/or trauma—whether from past experiences or chronic daily stress at your government workplace . It is easy to experience a quiet wave of impostor syndrome, worrying that showing vulnerability will cause everything to crack. Eventually, this turns into deep burnout that spills into your personal life, straining relationships and draining your joy. You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.
I’m here to offer a warm, genuine space where you have a steady, experienced guide in your corner. Prior to my work as a therapist, I have decades of experience in the business world. My approach is informed by my extensive background in work operations and a front-row seat to the business world. I know firsthand how exhausting it is to navigate the fast pace, shifting dynamics, and constant pressure of this environment every single day. Because I understand these realities, I already speak your language.
In our sessions, we focus on healing the root causes of your distress, not just managing symptoms. Backed by extensive training in advanced trauma treatment, I know how to help you safely process deep-seated stress. Highly capable people are often incredibly smart and easily intellectualize feelings, but trauma and burnout live in your nervous system, not just your logical brain.
I am a compassionate and dedicated trauma-focused therapist specializing in helping individuals heal from the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, or helping couples work through their trauma together to strengthen their relationships. Helping navigating life's challenges, including depression, anxiety, and the stressors that can often feel overwhelming. I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to process and recover from difficult experiences.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, who has served Southern Maryland and the DC metropolitan area for over 20 years. A Nationally Board Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association, and fully insured through HPSO. As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I am passionate about assisting those who have served as first responders and in the military; treating PTSD, and a focus on vicarious or secondary trauma. I also have a passion for working with children and adults diagnosed with ADHD. This often misdiagnosed and under-reported neurodevelopment disorder is stigmatized and misrepresented as being “lazy” or “unmotivated”, while understating the extreme barriers that contribute to one’s ability to meet societal norms of being goal or task oriented and organized. I love to help clients see the magic of their A-Typical Brains and bring light to all of the various challenges that a person with ADHD encounters in day to day life. Learning to leverage their differences as an asset and not a deficit by assisting them in creating opportunities for growth and success; through development of adaptive coping skills
Hello, and welcome to In Practice. I'm Dr. Natasha Charles-McQueen, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. I work with adults, including first responders, healthcare professionals, men, and older adults, who are navigating medical trauma, traumatic loss, grief, chronic stress, major life transitions, and relationship challenges. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, disconnected, or simply finding it difficult to move forward, therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand your experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with your strengths.
I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). My education in psychology, combined with my clinical experience, allows me to provide evidence-based care tailored to each client's unique needs.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care that recognizes the connection among the mind, body, emotions, and behaviors. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and supported while also being encouraged to grow in ways that align with your values and goals.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy designing guided journals, playing the drum, creating art, and writing poetry. I believe creativity encourages reflection, healing, and personal growth, and those values influence the way I approach therapy and my work.
