Hi, I'm Gabriella, I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 2013, but I have been in the mental health field since 2006. We all know that in recent years, specifically starting in 2020, our life as we knew it drastically changed. Our relationships with our family, friends, coworkers and even ourselves appeared to stall indefinitely. We had to learn to maneuver in different ways to try and have a sense of "normalcy." But as we tried to navigate this new way of life, our mental health has suffered. We have noticed that depression, anxiety, and relationship/interpersonal issues have been rising because we have isolated ourselves for so long. As people, we are social beings and tend to gravitate towards social situations. Within the last year, rules and mandates have eased, and we are resuming to our "new normal," and maybe we are feeling hesitant and vulnerable to step out. Reaching out for help is very difficult but the most rewarding decisions you make. We can work together to make step by step goals so you can achieve your success.

Often, we all go through difficult times. Times of despair, painful circumstances, and distress; Situations that many times affect our peace of mind and our relationships with ourselves and others. Sometimes, we even question the purpose of our lives because we feel like there is no purpose for what we are going through. As a caring clinician, I allow and encouraged my client to create a space for healing, where they feel in control of choosing their own path to freedom and sense of control.

You look like you have it all together—but inside, your mind rarely slows down. You replay conversations, second-guess decisions, and put pressure on yourself to get everything "right." Saying "no" feels uncomfortable, asking for what you need feels selfish, and somewhere along the way you've started believing your worth depends on how much you do for everyone else. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. I specialize in working with adults who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and boundaries. My clients are often thoughtful, dependable, and deeply caring—but they're exhausted from carrying the weight of everyone's expectations while ignoring their own needs. In therapy, we'll do more than manage symptoms. We'll explore the patterns that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others, helping you understand the "why" behind your anxiety, inner critic, and difficulty speaking up. Together, we'll build practical skills to quiet overthinking, set healthier boundaries, communicate with confidence, and create a life that feels more balanced and authentic. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can exhale—not perform. You'll find a space where you can be honest, ask difficult questions, and develop skills that create lasting change. If you're ready to understand yourself more deeply, break old patterns, and build a life that feels more peaceful and authentic, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

I have been a therapist for 14+ years and I love what I do. I truly feel it has been a calling for me to sit with my clients in the dark spaces of life, so they feel less alone and to process the hurts with them. I love watching my clients have incremental improvements and watching them learn to love and trust themselves and to have healthier relationships. I am very open minded and believe you are a whole person and am not embarrassed to talk about any of what you have going on. I am open minded spiritually and am an LGBTQ ally and member. I am not the therapist who is just going to sit and nod at you while you talk, I am engaging and give feedback and consider what my clients are able to hear and the level of changes they are wanting/ willing to make. I myself have been in therapy and work hard to hold my role as therapist in mind as well as my side on the other side of the clinical relationship. I do not view myself as the expert on your life, just a fellow human that has some extra training in this area, as well as good people skills and high intuition that genuinely wants to help and cares once I have heard your story. I am conversational in session and will self disclose if it relates to the conversation. I have a dark sense of humor, suck at math and love animals and I enjoy reading, watching TV and coloring for fun. I have been told by others that I am a great listener, think outside the box and am nonjudgmental and am authentic and genuine. I would love to work with you!

I believe therapy is most effective as a collaborative process, and I encourage patients to actively engage in their care with me and with other providers who support their overall wellbeing. Important Notice: Dr. Banigo provides psychotherapeutic services. Requests for administrative documentation—such as disability certification, FMLA, or emotional support animal letters—will be referred to another mental health provider. Are you looking to improve your communication, strengthen your relationships, and manage conflict more effectively? Interpersonal skills are the foundation of healthy and thriving relationships—both personal and professional. If you are recovering from an emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationship and feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can also help you rebuild your identity, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier relationship patterns. I am a relationship counselor, currently providing individual and group therapy for adults aged 18 and older. I specialize in helping clients improve their relationship with themselves through personal growth and the development of healthier interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, anger management, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills. Many individuals struggling in unhealthy, emotionally abusive, or narcissistic relationship dynamics often lose their sense of self, confidence, voice, and emotional balance within those relationships. A major focus of my work is helping clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild healthier patterns, and strengthen how they show up in relationships with others. How you relate to yourself impacts every relationship in your life. When you learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in healthier ways, your relationships often become stronger, more balanced, and more fulfilling. This growth can improve confidence, reduce stress, and support overall emotional wellness. I provide a supportive environment where clients can increase self-awareness, create meaningful change, and develop healthier connections with themselves and others. Schedule an appointment with me to begin your wellness journey.

Hi! I am Alyson Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a millennial and military brat that grew up in Northern Virginia. Currently, I reside in Maryland and have licenses in both Maryland and Virginia. I am taking clients in both states via telehealth. For undergrad, I attended the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) and for my graduate education and clinical training I practiced at Valdosta State University. The therapeutic modality I use the most often is Narrative Therapy. Using Narrative Therapy, I help clients change the problem stories in their heads to preferred stories to improve their behaviors, relationships, and life outlook. With this practice, I enjoy using journal prompts, metaphors, and media. I am not a trained Christian therapist, but I do identify as a Christian, and enjoy using all religion and spirituality in my practice, but it is not required. I am LGBTQ-IA+ affirming and believe in honoring and creating space for all identities in session. A personal joy of mine is working with Black clients who are first-timers in therapy to work on destigmatizing mental health and healing the impacts of white supremacy. More specifically, I prioritize supporting Black clients who grew up in predominantly White spaces who did not feel "Black enough." My favorite problem to work with is when someone says "I'm stuck," to help a client not only get moving but move in a healthy direction. In my personal life, I am married, am a mother to a sickle cell warrior son, have a wonderful bonus-daughter and playful Aussiedoodle. That being said, I have an appreciation for working with blended families and exploring dating post-divorce. For self-care I enjoy writing fiction, listening to 90's and 2000s R&B, and watching romcoms. Looking forward to helping your healing journey.

Welcome! I'm an LCSW-C practicing virtually throughout Maryland, with almost 40 years of experience in mental health settings. I work with adults across the lifespan, from young adulthood through middle age and into the later chapters of life. I’m particularly interested in the challenges, transitions, and opportunities that come with each stage—and in helping people navigate the changes that are simply part of being human. Depending on where you are in life, that might include changing relationships and family roles, career transitions, caregiving, retirement or choosing to work beyond traditional retirement age, grief and loss, chronic illness or pain, living alone, or questions about identity, purpose, meaning, aging, mortality, and what comes next. I also enjoy working with busy professionals managing demanding careers and frequent work travel, as well as parents trying to support young adult or adult children who are struggling with mental health concerns, ADHD, autism, independence, identity, relationships, or finding their way in adulthood. Many of my clients aren't in crisis—they're simply at an important crossroads. I bring a warm, thoughtful, down-to-earth approach to helping people slow down, sort through what's happening, and decide how they want to move forward. My services are virtual only. Appointments are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings.

Greetings, my name is John Luke. I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. I work with people to develop insight into the source of their problems, how their core beliefs about the world might be hindering their progress, and focus on their natural strengths to overcome those barriers with practical skills that generate sustainable change. Some of my other specialties include short-term, solution-focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; psychodynamic approaches; and marital counseling. Some of the problems I am particularly keen on solving with my clients include issues with self-image and confidence; dating and relationships; boundary-setting and assertive communication; as well as general anxiety management; and learning to identify and productively resolve emotional unrest. I am also very experienced in cognitive restructuring, which is just a fancy way of saying helping to change the way a person thinks about the world and their place in it. I also enjoy aiding people in goal setting and identification, meaning-making, and navigating family conflicts. If you feel any of this could be helpful or useful to you, please do not hesitate to reach out! (Note: I do work with couples, but only on a cash-pay basis. Also, I only work with ages 18+)

Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker in DC (LICSW); and also a Clinical Social Worker in MD (LCSW-C). I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1985 and my Master's degree in Social Work in 1999. I earned my LICSW in DC in 2002. In December 2024, I earned my Clinical license in Maryland (LCSW-C). I like talking with people--but more importantly, listening to people. To me, therapy is a block of time. It is an opportunity for people to talk to someone who is not a parent, brother, sister, spouse or even best friend. My goal is to listen to you and to help you consider options in your life.

Yes! If you use Aetna - Luminare you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Aetna - Luminare you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
