I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Board-Approved Supervisor in Maryland with experience across outpatient community mental health, private practice, and university counseling settings. I especially enjoy working with young adults and women navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship and family challenges, identity and self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. My approach to therapy is warm, conversational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I draw from relational and interpersonal approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, strengths-based interventions, and trauma-informed care to meet each client’s individual needs. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives. My role is to offer support, curiosity, perspective, and practical tools while creating a space where you can better understand yourself, recognize patterns, and work toward changes that feel meaningful to you.

I offer a space for people seeking a deeper and more compassionate understanding of themselves. Many people come to therapy struggling in relationships, navigating complex family dynamics, or feeling unsure of who they are and what direction they want their life to move in. Often, there is a desire for more peace, clarity, authenticity, and a stronger sense of alignment, all of which I believe are possible through deeper self-understanding and meaningful therapeutic work. My approach to therapy is relational, meaning that connection, trust, and feeling truly seen are a central part of the therapeutic process. Therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand the patterns, beliefs, and ways of relating that may be contributing to difficulties in relationships, feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or struggling to feel fully at peace in your life. I view therapy as more than just symptom management. It can be a rich, rewarding, and empowering experience that helps you feel more connected to yourself, more grounded in your identity and values, and more confident in the way you move through life and relationships. My goal is to help you develop greater clarity, self-understanding, self-compassion, and the ability to show up more fully and authentically in your life.

Hello, my name is Ronak Makadia, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.) with additional training in social work (MSW). As a second-generation, Asian American I quickly learned the stigma and shame attached to attending therapy, especially within the Asian American community. As a cis-gender woman of color, I value and will provide culturally competent services. Please note that I only accept adults and older adults who are high-functioning but need support to overcome barriers. Due to the nature of my private practice, I am unable to accept clients who are seeking treatment for trauma, substance use or severe mental illness. I work alongside patients to overcome any barriers they may be facing. I will always encourage you to create, learn, and consistently use healthy coping mechanisms. To avoid staying stuck, I collaborate with you in developing solutions to aid you in moving forward in your life. We all get stuck sometimes and I am here to help. Therapy does not have to be a painful experience and I will be here to guide you toward improvement in a welcoming, affirmative environment. I support the movement to destigmatize therapy and make mental health care accessible for all. I will continue to support this mission and provide quality counseling. Talk to me about scheduling a first appointment if you are interested in working together. I look forward to working with you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Josh Gonsher, a licensed clinical psychologist with a warm, down-to-earth approach to healing. I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, worry, and stress—not by fighting their symptoms, but by creating a new internal landscape where those struggles no longer take center stage. My approach is grounded in Contextual Therapy. I don’t just help clients “fix” thoughts or behaviors—I work with them to build a more meaningful life, one where old patterns and problems naturally begin to lose their grip. It’s about shifting the frame, not just adjusting the picture. I offer a space that’s collaborative, gently challenging, and deeply respectful of your unique path. You don’t need to “have it all figured out”—just a willingness to begin. Whether you’re dealing with social anxiety, overthinking, burnout, or a general sense of feeling stuck, my goal is to help you move toward a version of life that you choose, one that often feels more grounded, spacious, and aligned with whom you truly are.

I work with adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, chronic stress, difficult life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by circumstances that have become difficult to manage on their own. Hi, I'm Gabriella, I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 2013, but I have been in the mental health field since 2006. We all know that in recent years, specifically starting in 2020, our life as we knew it drastically changed. Our relationships with our family, friends, coworkers and even ourselves appeared to stall indefinitely. We had to learn to maneuver in different ways to try and have a sense of "normalcy." But as we tried to navigate this new way of life, our mental health has suffered. We have noticed that depression, anxiety, and relationship/interpersonal issues have been rising because we have isolated ourselves for so long. As people, we are social beings and tend to gravitate towards social situations. Within the last year, rules and mandates have eased, and we are resuming to our "new normal," and maybe we are feeling hesitant and vulnerable to step out. Reaching out for help is very difficult but the most rewarding decisions you make. We can work together to make step by step goals so you can achieve your success.

Even though you may be struggling with something right now, you can choose to see it in a new way... which can lead to changing your relationship to it... which can lead to real transformation. Everything you need is already within you. My role is to help you access it, and use it. I bring curiosity, empathy, and evidence-based therapies -- including mind-body approaches (e.g., EFT tapping, energy work, breathwork, meditation/mindfulness) and the principles of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and IFS (internal family systems therapy) and spiraling out from there as your story leads us. You bring openness, willingness to practice, and neuroplasticity, and you can change -- literally re-wire -- your brain. When you do, you'll be amazed at the cascade of positive changes this creates... not only within you, but all around you in your life. It is hard to be vulnerable in therapy. And while I don't yet know your story, I do know that if you are considering therapy, you are already doing the hard work of introspection. It takes courage to seek out more for yourself. You already have my respect and my empathy, and I would love to be part of your journey of healing and discovery. I'm a licensed mental health professional (LCSW-C) in Maryland and have experience as a social worker and therapist working with children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, providing individual and family therapy in a variety of settings (community mental health agency, schools, inpatient and outpatient healthcare). I learn something valuable from each client with whom I'm privileged to work, and deeply appreciate the insights I gain through our work together.

Hi, my name is Jen Bowman and I have been a Social Worker since 2007. I am passionate about helping young adults and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, and grief and loss. I have worked in various settings throughout the years including foster care, out-patient mental health clinics, dialysis clinics, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. We can all feel depressed or anxious at times, but when we feel that way for a prolonged period, it may be time to consider getting support. People suffering from depression often experience symptoms such as isolation, negative self-talk, low motivation, sleep disturbance, low energy, hopelessness, helplessness, etc. When someone is suffering from anxiety, they often experience excessive worrying, agitation, irritability, restlessness, intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating, difficulty in social situations, panic attacks, etc. These are all things that I can help you with.

I work primarily with adults and older adults, helping them heal from grief, anger, shame and change.

MALES-ONLY THERAPIST*** Jason has experience working with Males with a variety of presenting concerns, such as substance use, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, and trauma. Jason earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2020. He gives a lot of feedback--not-like what you see in the movies. He’s a dog-person and mixes-up how he takes his coffee--but it's usually an Americano.

I am the wife of a Retired Combat Veteran and a mother to four beautiful children. I understand the complexities of being separated from your spouse for extended periods and feeling alone in the relationship and raising the children. Even the most well-prepared and successful person can find themselves wondering how things became so complicated, messy, or challenging, and feel at a loss when it comes to what to do to put the pieces back together. People have been shaped and molded by their past experiences, both good and bad. Often, people feel drawn to focus on the bad experiences, leading to pain and struggles of many kinds.

Hello, I'm Nazli Fouladi. I'm a clinical psychologist who is genuinely committed to helping you navigate life's challenges through mental well-being and emotional balance. I have a profound passion for delving into the complexities of the human mind and assisting others in their journey towards healing, personal growth, and living their best life. My approach is built on empathy, trust, and a strong belief in each person's capacity for positive change, all within a non-directive therapeutic space. I value a holistic approach to mental health including the mind, body and spirit. In addition to my doctoral studies in clinical psychology, I also have a postgraduate background in lifespan developmental psychology. That’s why I’m particularly aware of the difficulties that may come up during the intricate stages and events of life. For example, going off to college, marriage, parenthood, work-life balance caring for older loved ones, generational events/trauma etc. My academic journey includes a Doctoral and Masters training in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology which I earned in the year 2009. Before that, I received a Master’s degree in lifespan Developmental Psychology from Johns Hopkins University. I also have a graduate background in the Fine Arts and Biology. Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
