My first career includes 17 years of retail management. I worked in multiple divisions, environments, and roles within the retail management industry. Most of my experience was in big-box retail environments or corporate offices, so I understand the expectations and stressors of P&L management, marketing, staff performance/recruitment/training & development, shrinkage, O.S.H.A. compliance, and merchandising. I transitioned from the retail management industry to the human services industry in March 2010 after earning my Master’s degree in Human Services, with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling. I recently obtained a doctoral degree in Human and Social Services. This information is pertinent for adults who need assistance to cope with work-life balance, corporate industry standards, stressful work environments, conflict management with co-workers, and work performance due to compassion fatigue or inappropriate time management.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois and Maine. I have experience working with clients in crisis with severe mental illness to adults experiencing depression and anxiety with chronic complex medical conditions. Coping with life challenges is not something you have to go through alone. Many people seek therapy for support, information, and new ideas on how to better handle the curve balls that life can throw sometimes. I believe that human beings are incredibly resilient and sometimes need assistance in recognizing their own inner strength to create positive changes in their lives. The therapeutic relationship should be collaborative, built upon both mutual respect and independence, and I hope to empower my clients to find opportunities for personal growth so that they can move forward with their goals. I have been a great support to those experiencing significant changes in their lives such as new medical diagnosis or crisis events. Be proud of making this step forward toward your best self. Currently I am only accepting new clients who are trans. I am a trans and queer Licensed Clinical Social Worker and artist with 15 years of experience in community mental health. My approach is that all people deserve to have the opportunity to experience a safe, kind, and welcoming space to explore their mental health, and that as a therapist, it is my job to nurture that. I am driven to create therapeutic opportunities for people who want and need them within the LGBTQ2IA+ community. I am open to working with clients that find themselves in need of an understanding, compassionate, and community-oriented therapist who will help to guide them through healing work. My areas of focus are: LGBTQ2IA+ and TGNC emerging adults and adults, major life transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD, gender dysphoria, and sexual identity exploration. I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Arts in Gender Studies (MA) degrees concurrently at Loyola University Chicago. Before entering graduate school, I worked in multiple positions focused on reproductive justice, body autonomy, and community care. My life and professional experiences have led me to provide therapy with a focus on community care through an anti oppressive lense. I understand that helping one person can have a positive impact on the greater community surrounding them. I believe that treatment approaches should fit the individual's needs and thus I utilize many modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, somatics, and narrative therapy. My approaches of curiosity and kindness create a welcoming space to engage in therapy. Choosing to work with a therapist is a powerful way to help yourself and we all deserve a chance to have focused time to explore, learn, and grow through challenges.

Hi there, I'm Kristen. I'm a marriage and family therapist, which means that I come at clients' problems as a product of each person's individual system and the others in their lives. Every issue has a cause, but whether we can identify that cause or not, we still have to find a way forward. I help clients determine for themselves what they want to do. I come at each problem from a biopsychosocial-spiritual viewpoint. This means that every issue we deal with is influenced by our biological health, our psychological well being, our social resources, and our spiritual connection to the world around us. That gives us four different ways to address our stressors and four different paths to utilize when needed. I'm biblically trained, so I can help clients with religious or spiritual abuse, or help you rely on your spirituality to identify coping skills that will work for you. Some of my clients are not interested in spirituality, so we don't include spiritual practices in their work. Others want to focus efforts on spiritual practices, so we rely heavily in that area for them. Each client is unique, and each treatment plan is different. I see clients individually, in couples, or families depending on the need and the focus of their treatment. I'm available Monday through Thursday and have sessions as late as 8 pm.

As a child, I always wanted to pursue a career where I could assist with an individual’s growth, creativity and happiness. I learned at a young age the struggles that life can bring, not only through the inevitable, but also through situational traumas that we at times have to face and endure. Being an active member in the clinical field of helping professionals, I have certainly learned the importance of patience, empathy and peace. Identifying and securing ones’ purpose in life, creates the true masterpiece of one’s story. My goal is to assist you in your journey to self-actualization.

My name is Sabrina Turner. I trained at Bradley University and have 12 years of clinical experience. I focus on issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, and ADHD. Throughout my career I have worked with clients of all ages. I primarily use person centered techniques, but I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness depending on the client. In addition, integrative approaches are helpful to most people, which means we look at your overall nutritional and physical well being in conjunction with your mental health. Asking for help is never easy, but connection and relationships help us lead our best lives. My goal is to help you build healthier coping skills for yourself. What that looks like is different for everyone, but I want to help you find your own unique path. During our first session I will ask you to share some background information with me. It can be difficult to share, so please know that my number one goal is to give you a safe, nonjudgemental space to open up. In subsequent sessions we will dive deeper into your reasons for seeking therapy. We will explore techniques that are already working for you and add in new skills along the way. If you are looking for a clinician to walk alongside you while you discover yourself and how to be your best version, we will likely be a good fit!

Hello, I’m Marisol Cruz. I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) offering therapy in both English and Spanish. With 24 years of experience as a school counselor and over 5 years as a mental health clinician, I support adults who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, and issues with self-worth or confidence. I also have extensive experience helping individuals manage overthinking, emotional overwhelm, and communication difficulties. My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe therapy should feel safe and supportive, and I work to create a non-judgmental space where you can express yourself openly. Together, we will identify your goals, understand what’s weighing on you, and develop practical strategies to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced. Whether you’re seeking clarity, guidance, healing, or personal growth, I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Let’s work together to create meaningful and lasting change.

I have experience working with adults, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem and key life transitions. I provide a safe and accepting space where you can be open and honest with the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. Prior to returning to school for a counseling degree, I worked in the corporate and nonprofit sectors for many years as an editor and writer and I bring that unique perspective and experience to my work with clients. My multicultural background is also an asset in working with diverse populations. I utilize a strengths-based approach when working with clients while creating a safe and accepting space where you can be open and honest with the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. Because I view therapy as a collaborative process, I will be checking in with you throughout our time together to review your initial goals for therapy and to ensure that you continue to feel heard and understood in therapy. It takes courage to seek out counseling. If you are ready take that step, I am here to support, encourage and empower you. I look forward to working with you!
