We are all seeking to be understood, embraced, and accepted while we navigate through life. Expecting these things from your therapist shouldn’t be a difficult ask, and you can count on me to be exactly that for you. I honor the step you’re taking and I celebrate your courage to get here. While I genuinely love working with people from all walks of life, I specialize in working with adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other similar traumas. I utilize a variety of avenues towards therapy to curate a tailored approach for each individual. I am also passionate about my work with adults in the gender, sexual, and relationship structure minority. This refers to LGBTQIA+ folks, those in non-monogamous connections (polyamory, swinging, open relationships, etc.), those in the BDSM & kink community, and more. I also see monogamous and vanilla-identifying folks and I am a sex-positive therapist. I work to create a safe space where your identity will be honored and respected and you are able to be your full, authentic self. I believe that in order to grow, we must first feel safe to do so. I look forward to finding out how I can best serve you so that you may find personal acceptance and peace!

Welcome to my profile. My 21 years being an educator has prepared me to serve in the capacity of a Professional Counselor. One of the reasons are the many years of working/displaying compassion for those with emotional/behavioral challenges. I have been able to transition my skills into counseling adults. I have a passion in helping people realize their possibilities, even when life says different. My work addresses the whole person; not fragments. Additionally, I believe the individual learns how to become more connected to themselves and their community, by learning their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral negative patterns. I can help people realize their cognitive distortions that has contributed to them becoming "stuck". I am a person who is willing to go the long haul with my clients and instill unconditional positive regard towards their challenges. Finally, I will provide support and a safe space for a person taking the risk of the journey of self-exploration. I hope you enjoyed reviewing my profile. If you are ready to take this journey please allow me to share this with you.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Georgia rather than a city like Atlanta?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
