I started helping those who are seeking to up-level their experiences and shine as their true and authentic selves in 2019. My journey first started in residential treatment facilities where I held space for those in early recovery from substance use disorders. This population ranged from men's only, women's only and LGBTQ+ Many of these individuals also struggled with anxiety, depression, trauma and eating disorders. I have also had the opportunity to work with adolescents at risk of sex trafficking. This work is extremely rewarding as the clients are at an age where they are most influential and willing. I am a deeply spiritual person and practice in the study of yoga and meditation and participate in somatic healings such as Kundalini Light Intergration (KALI) and breathworks. I am also a level two Reiki practitioner (training to become a master) and a certified personal trainer. When I am not holding space for healing, I enjoy being in the outdoors, surfing, climbing, reading and cooking nutritious and fun to eat meals. I hope to continue the journey of providing a safe space for individuals where healing can occur for years to come. I offer sessions both early in the morning (5am - 7am) and later in the evening (6pm - 9pm) to accommodate those who work nine to five or those who just prefer early morning or evening therapy sessions.

Life is weird, and having help can help. As a therapist, I tend to be both challenging and supportive. I am focused on real and genuine relationships with folks that help people choose how to define their goals in terms of what is important to them. I care a lot about the people who work with me, and I think that comes across in my relationships. As I am sure you can see via the Grow reviews, I am honest and direct, qualities I find many people appreciate in a therapeutic relationship but I also understand those are not for everyone. Therapy can also be hard work, but that doesn't mean it has to be a hard time. I've been in the field long enough to know how normal having problems is. The people I work with appreciate that therapy can be a place to laugh, cry, and sometimes both at the same time. In terms of modalities, a lot of the work I do centers on the therapeutic relationship, with elements of narrative work, CBT, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and general talk therapy. I don't use Grow's AI transcription, and I didn't use AI to write this, if that is important to you to know.

I offer a space where your pain can soften, your story can unfold gently, and you can be met with warmth and compassion without judgment. I draw from CBT, TF-CBT, MI, mindfulness, and person-centered, holistic practices — not as rigid techniques, but as tools we weave into the moments when you need grounding, clarity, or a way to steady yourself. I’m Dr. Andy Davis, a licensed psychologist with 18 years of experience in the mental health field. Thirteen of those years were spent serving in the U.S. Air Force, where I had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress, grief, personality disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, and concerns related to sex and pornography addiction. As a sex-positive therapist, I provide a safe and affirming environment for clients to explore sensitive areas of their lives without fear of judgment. My therapeutic style is both solutions-focused and rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe therapy should be proactive and goal-driven, helping clients not only gain insight but also develop strategies for change. Clients often describe me as direct and honest, while also compassionate and collaborative—I strive to give practical feedback and advice that can be applied both in and outside of sessions. I especially enjoy working with veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and young adults. These groups often face unique challenges, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside them as they navigate life’s complexities. In addition to my clinical work, I have an extensive background in clinical research. While serving in the Air Force, I conducted sleep studies and developed modern treatment approaches for PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. This research continues to inform my practice, and I place strong emphasis on developing healthy routines, quality sleep schedules, and consistent self-care as foundations for mental health. I often work with clients to build structure into daily life, recognizing these habits play a powerful role in resilience and long-term well-being. Above all, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to face challenges, discover new perspectives, and build lasting resilience.

I have approximately seven years of experience specializing in substance use counseling, while also providing behavioral health services to individuals and families experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. My clinical experience includes conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, providing individualized and brief therapy, implementing evidence-based interventions, crisis intervention, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support clients’ overall well-being. My approach to therapy is client-centered, compassionate, culturally responsive, and strength-based. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and trauma-informed care to meet each client's unique needs and goals. My ideal clients are individuals who are motivated to improve their quality of life, whether they are navigating substance use challenges, mental health concerns, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or stress-related issues. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking practical tools, emotional support, and guidance as they build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward lasting personal growth. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to helping clients access resources, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful, sustainable change.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles and Fresno California. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for the past 8 years. I work with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, life transitions, and identity-related stressors. Much of my clinical experience has centered on supporting underserved communities of color within correctional facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health settings. I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, including queer and trans people of color, and have experience facilitating LGBTQ+ support groups as well as collaborating within gender-affirming care teams. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, authenticity, and creating a space where clients feel seen, affirmed, and empowered in their healing journey. I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their sense of self and community.

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. ¡Bienvenidos! Starting therapy and meeting someone new can feel a little uncertain. For me, therapy starts with getting to know each other and building confianza, so you can feel comfortable being yourself and telling me what’s really going on. Sometimes we all need un ratito to slow down, breathe, and hear ourselves again. I’m a bilingual English and Spanish speaking therapist, the daughter of immigrants, and a first generation college graduate. My language, culture, family, and the way I was raised have shaped how I see the world and how I approach this work. They’ve also taught me to stay curious about the experiences, relationships, cultures, communities, and environments that have shaped you. I’m also a Certified Nature-Informed Therapist (C-NIT), and nature is an important part of how I approach our work. That doesn’t mean every session has to be about nature or that you need to be outdoors. We might use grounding, natural imagery, mindfulness, nervous system awareness, or find ways for you to connect with nature in your own surroundings between sessions. Sometimes it’s simply about slowing things down enough to notice what’s happening inside of you. You may be used to being the one who keeps going, figures things out, or takes care of everyone else. Maybe lately you don’t quite feel like yourself. Maybe you’re anxious, tired, going through a transition, questioning a relationship, or realizing there are things you’ve carried for a long time that you finally want to understand.

I’m a millennial therapist who believes therapy can be meaningful and transformative without feeling overly intimidating. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are...whether you need to unpack something heavy, celebrate a win, laugh at the chaos of life, or admit that you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing right now. My goal is to create a space that feels comfortable and judgment-free while still helping you challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you. We can talk about boundaries, anxiety, relationships, people-pleasing, self-esteem, life transitions, or simply the overwhelming pressure of trying to have everything figured out.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
