I am first and foremost a lover of people. My approach is authentic, supportive, empathetic, and understanding of the difficulties many experience in life having to manage mental health symptoms, feelings of being alone/misunderstood, dealing with the ramifications of historical trauma and the impact these can have on one's current relationships. My greatest strength is quickly building rapport and focusing on holistic wellness (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) and the connection between them. I am devoted to best care practices and excellent service delivery. I align myself well and tend to the immediate needs, desires, and goals of the person I'm working with. I don't believe that therapy is about learning to 'suffer less' but to work towards realizing one's full potential and highest level of functioning, identifying and working to resolve barriers that stand in the way, and developing the ability to trust in oneself, and one's ability to thrive in life. Every goal that is important to my client is important to me.

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to people—their stories, their emotions, and the quiet places where they carry their pain. After experiencing my own seasons of grief and change, I realized how powerful it can be to have someone walk beside you through it. Becoming a therapist felt less like a decision and more like a calling to offer the support I once needed myself. Today, I’m honored to hold space for others as they navigate loss, healing, and the search for themselves again.

Hi, I’m Gretchen Raring, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW: NJ, FL, AZ & ND; LICSW: MA) with 20+ years of experience in behavioral health. I work with teens through older adults and support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My practice is grounded in the belief that therapy should feel supportive and purposeful. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative, and I see therapy as a team effort. I want you to feel comfortable being honest while supported and challenged toward change. My approach is structured but flexible. We’ll have a sense of direction while making room for what matters most. I use an eclectic approach based on your needs and goals. I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all. One of my strengths is being highly attuned and building the trust that allows deeper work. Together, we’ll connect the dots between your experiences, emotions, relationships, thoughts, and behaviors. We’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies for everyday life. My background includes work across mental health, addiction, trauma, homelessness, the criminal justice system, and community-based behavioral health. I’ve worked with people during difficult times in their lives. Those experiences shape how I practice and reinforce my belief that there is always more to someone’s story than what you see on the surface. I believe progress is about the direction of our work, not the speed. Change often happens through small steps. I believe in celebrating every win because those wins build confidence and momentum. Above all, I want therapy to be a place for honest conversations, deeper understanding, practical tools, and meaningful change-at a pace that works for you. At this time, I am accepting individual clients only and am not accepting new couples. I will update my profile when couples availability reopens.

Hello, and congratulations on taking this step. Reaching out takes awareness, courage, and a real commitment to change — it requires to invite someone into your struggles. I've spent over 25 years working in behavioral health as a clinician, clinical supervisor, and clinical director. My career has taken me from a faith-based agency in New England to a community behavioral health center in northeastern Arizona, where I eventually led clinical services for 12 years, to providing counseling at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base — an experience that deepened my respect for military members and their families. I now own a private practice in Sahuarita, Arizona. My work focuses on helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. I also welcome working with military veterans, people of faith, and individuals and families facing serious illness. In the spring of 2025, I was diagnosed with cancer. I have since completed treatment and am now cancer free — and that experience gave me a much deeper appreciation for what it means to face something that reshapes your world. I don't see therapy as simply treating a diagnosis. I see it as working with you as a whole person — your strengths, fears, hopes, values, pain, and goals. I'll listen carefully, but I'll also be active: helping you identify patterns, understand difficult thoughts and emotions, build coping skills, and take meaningful steps forward. I won't claim to be the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you and help guide the change process at a pace that feels respectful and manageable. I believe that you cannot laugh without a combination of insight and relief. You can expect some humor in most sessions. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. In that time I have worked with men, women, teens, and families on a wide variety of issues. Sometimes that work simply involved helping them through a particular incident or life change that overwhelmed them. Other times our work together centered around longstanding issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. In addition to traditional cognitive behavioral therapy, I also offer a fourth-wave therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have found this technique to be highly effective in helping people with trauma and or anxiety. Our minds and bodies are connected. Anyone who has experienced a tight neck and shoulders or an upset stomach when they were stressed knows this. EFT uses acupressure (done by the client) and cognitive interventions to provide fast and effective relief. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am ready to help you through the challenges you are facing. In addition to counseling, I also provide vocational testing, coaching, and consulting. I provide both Christian and secular counseling depending on the needs of my clients. For clients with high level confidentiality concerns due to corporate or clearance issues, there are ways we can do EFT without you ever speaking out loud about events.

A little about me, I'm Shaunté owner of Thrive Health LLC. I'm a first-born Leo through and through, direct, warm, and not afraid to be a little bold. I've spent over a decade in community mental health here in Arizona. Everything I do is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, because I believe the things that trip us up usually aren't flaws, they're protections that made sense once, even if they don't anymore. My style is collaborative and goal-focused: this is your life we're working toward, and I'm here to help you get there.

I am a holistic and integrative therapist offering somatic psychotherapy online. I support clients who are navigating chronic stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, neurodiversity and high sensitivity. I integrate eastern and western modalities to offer a truly holistic approach to healing and highly effective therapy: Somatic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reiki & Energy Therapy, Spinal Energetics and Therapeutic Yoga. Our past experiences live in the body and entire system, not only in the mind. I believe it is important to work with the whole self when it comes to healing. My primary approach is somatic-- inviting the body into the conversation and processing emotion, energy and experience through the body-mind.

I have been in the mental health field for over 8 years working as a caser manager for kids 6 to 17, working at a rehab facility, working as a substance abuse counselor in a prison and running my private practice. I offer EMDR, Trauma Informed CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness based approaches. Are you riding the hot mess express? When is the last time you had a good cry and not because you are angry? Do you feel like a robot and/or don't know what you want and need? Do you know exactly why you do what you do and still can't make any changes? Have you got in trouble because you used unhealthy coping skills and wants to learn how to do different? I have helped people from many different backgrounds and lived experiences get to a point where there they can live the life they want and not the one their past has created for them. I only have two rules for my clients: "you aren't allowed to say sorry because you didn't do anything wrong" and "you are allowed to tell me no". I use whatever method my client needs to help either process the past or learn new skills in the present. Not all therapy requires you to process the past.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Arizona. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Arizona from Tucson to Mesa! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Arizona.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Arizona that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
