Hi, I’m Cary. I work with adults healing from trauma, including betrayal, childhood wounds, emotional abuse, and painful relationship experiences. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or disconnection and want to feel grounded and secure again. Trauma can quietly shape how we see ourselves and others. It can impact trust, boundaries, emotional regulation, and our ability to feel safe in relationships. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what happened, and begin healing at the root. I use trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches including EMDR, attachment-focused therapy, and mindfulness to help you process painful experiences and reduce emotional overwhelm. Our work is collaborative and paced to support both safety and growth.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is about slowing down and beginning to feel understood. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope will feel different in your life. I may ask about important past experiences, relationships, or stressors to better understand the patterns contributing to your current struggles. You’re always in control of the pace — we only go where you feel ready to go. We’ll also discuss your goals and what working together might look like, including the approaches I use such as EMDR, attachment-focused therapy, and mindfulness. Most importantly, the first session is about building safety and connection so you can feel supported from the start.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is helping clients move beyond insight into meaningful emotional change. I don’t just talk about trauma — I help you process it at the root. I specialize in betrayal trauma, attachment wounds, and anxiety rooted in relational experiences. Clients often come to me feeling stuck in painful patterns, overwhelmed by emotion, or disconnected from their sense of self. Through EMDR, attachment-focused therapy, and practical regulation tools, I help reduce emotional reactivity and rebuild internal safety. I balance warmth with directness. I create a space that feels steady and nonjudgmental, while also gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is collaborative, structured when needed, and always paced to support both safety and growth. Clients often leave therapy with greater clarity, stronger boundaries, improved emotional regulation, and a more secure sense of self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are ready to actively engage in their healing process. Many of my clients are navigating betrayal trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, or the lasting effects of emotionally painful relationships. They often feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, emotional reactivity, or disconnection. My ideal clients are insightful and motivated, even if they feel overwhelmed. They want to understand the deeper roots of their patterns, not just manage surface symptoms. They’re ready to build healthier boundaries, regulate intense emotions, and develop a stronger, more secure sense of self. Whether healing from infidelity, childhood neglect, emotional abuse, or a major life transition, they are seeking meaningful change — not just temporary relief.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an approach that focuses on finding unhelpful patterns in thinking and behaviors. It is based on the premise that our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. CBT is helpful for people to address emotional challenges and improve their quality of life.

Strength-Based

Strengths-based therapy focuses on an individual's existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities improving mindset and personal worldview. This approach empowers individuals to overcome personal barriers to be an agent of change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy creates a space for an individual to use their own understanding of their experiences as a platform for healing. This approach can benefit people who seek to gain more self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity or authenticity, greater success in establishing interpersonal relationships, and more trust in their own decisions.
