Carolin is passionate about helping others heal from wounds and find a peaceful path forward towards their goals. She knows what it is like to hurt, and she knows what it is like to heal. She got into therapy after raising her family and having the lived experience of struggling. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has worked full-time for three years with the homeless population. She has come to understand trauma as a systemic problem in our society and that has driven her to work on her PhD. She is in her third year as a PhD student studying counseling and psychology with a concentration in trauma and crisis. Carolin is a certified brainspotter. She believes that the client is the expert on themselves and is skilled at integrating different types of therapy to meet the client’s needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and build history. You get to decide if you think I am a good fit for therapy. You get to decide if I am the right person for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are the ability to work clients through trauma to healing and helping clients understand the interaction between the past, present, and future. I am empathetic and non-judgemental.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My specialties are trauma, anxiety, and depression. However, I work with a broad range of mental health disruptions.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

I am a certified brainspotter and I use it along with other therapies to help heal trauma wounds.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is the foundation of my approach to therapy. You are the expert on you and your history and I bring an empathetic and listening ear to your story.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I sprinkle some IFS into my eclectic approach. Understanding our wounded parts and how/why we protect them is one of the foundations to healing.
