Hello! My name is Michelle Belisle. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have over 11 years of experience in the mental health field working in a nonprofit community agency, youth residential treatment, and one-on-one ABA services. I received my Masters from the University of Phoenix and have been practicing for 10 years. I assist individuals with finding resources and tools needed to overcome stress of every day life and life's unexpected challenges.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I use a combination of Solution Focused, Person-Centered, CBT, and DBT that may help meet clients' needs depending on each individual's unique circumstances. I assist people in identifying problematic pattern behavior, reflect on how their experiences in life have shaped these patterns, and challenge clients to discuss possible solutions to experience problems in a new way.
During times of hardship when you feel alone and hopeless, it is difficult to identify your strength and resiliency. I strive to assist people in recognizing they are stronger than they know or feel they are. I provide a safe space free of judgment to guide people in learning to tolerate the new and different ways they experience the world and create lasting change. Driven by life experiences and motivation to make a difference, I work to understand and empathize with my clients. I implement inspiration from a long time friend and mentor to assist with empowering individuals reminding them, 'you are stronger than what you are feeling right now.'
