LMFT, 8 years of experience
I am a very empathetic and nurturing person by nature and always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the helping professions. For two decades, I provided direct service to clients in need through my previous career in social services. Throughout that time, I gained extensive knowledge of the effects of trauma and training in mindfulness techniques for emotional regulation. I worked with diverse and disadvantaged populations with various diagnoses, such as personality disorders, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). My decision to become a licensed marriage and family therapist derived from my own uncertain life transitions in my personal life along with my desire to continue to further meet my passion for helping others in their times of need.
Our first session is all about getting to know you—what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and how I can best support you. I’ll ask questions about your history, current challenges, and goals for therapy, but there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to. This is also your time to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. From there, we’ll begin to collaboratively explore what healing and growth might look like for you.
Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen and safe in our work together. I bring a calm, grounded presence and a nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. One of my greatest strengths is helping clients connect the dots between past experiences and present patterns so they can begin to heal at the root. I integrate evidence-based approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and EMDR to support both insight and real change. I also tailor therapy to each individual—honoring your unique story, needs, and pace—while gently challenging you to move toward growth and greater self-understanding.
I work best with individuals who are ready to explore their inner world with honesty and curiosity, even if they're not quite sure where to begin. My ideal clients are often navigating life transitions, managing anxiety or relationship challenges, healing from past trauma, or working to shift long-standing patterns that no longer serve them. They may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—but they’re also open to growth and willing to do the work of self-discovery. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or more fulfilling relationships, I offer a compassionate, collaborative space where we can work together to create meaningful change.
My approach to therapy focuses on helping you build emotional resilience, identify, challenge and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical tools to handle life’s challenges. I draw from a blend of therapeutic orientations—including CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy—so I can tailor our work to fit your unique needs and goals.
