Hello, my name is Kelechi Okwaraji, and I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and behavioral issues. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve emotional wellness and balance.
First session
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This helps me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up Sessons.
Strengths
Having worked with children, Adolescent and Adults for the past 2yrs. I have developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) Identify what could be the triggering /modifying factors /root cause of your challenges and (b) Create a tailored plan that leads to measurable results.
Ideal clients
I love working with adults who are struggling with a wide range of mental health challenges, including addiction, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. I also have extensive experience working with key populations, including female sex workers, LGBTQI individuals, and injection drug users. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental, and compassionate environment where clients feel safe to openly express themselves. My goal is to help individuals understand and work through their emotions, feelings, and life struggles, regardless of how long they have been dealing with their condition, while empowering them toward healing, stability, personal growth, and improved overall well-being.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, time-limited approach used to address various mental health issues. It focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to distress. Through CBT, individuals learn practical strategies to reframe distorted thinking, manage emotions, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. I have seen great results with clients struggling with conditions like anxiety, depression, and stress. Through CBT some of my clients were able to set specific goals, practice new skills, and evaluate progress over time.
Christian Counseling
Christian counseling integrates traditional therapeutic techniques with Christian principles and teachings. It aims to address emotional and psychological issues while aligning with an individual's faith and spiritual beliefs. Counselors may use Biblical scripture, prayer, and faith-based strategies to help clients navigate challenges, deepen their spiritual understanding, and find support through their faith. This approach often focuses on fostering personal growth, healing, and moral development in the context of a Christian worldview.
