(she/her)
Hello all. My name is Taiann Knetge, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master of Social Work from California State University Northridge, and I also have an undergraduate degree in Human Services. I have experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness, including eating disorders, psychotic disorders, and other co-occurring disorders. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical behavior therapy, and I am also trained in motivational interviewing and Interpersonal psychotherapy. Goal setting is a collaborative approach building on the vision clients have for their lives. I would like to help clients build on their own vision of their life worth living and ways in which they will feel empowered. The first session will be orienting you to what therapy looks like, gathering information about you and your life for an assessment, and exploring goals for treatment. During this session, we will explore if our personalities are compatible and you feel that I am a good fit.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will also review what to expect throughout therapy and see if we are a goof fit.
I think that creating and maintaining relationships and connections is my biggest strengths as a provider.
I like to work with clients from BIPOC and other marginalized communities who's experiences with discrimination impact their wellbeing. I especially want to work with black women. I have experience with eating disorders and other co occurring disorders
