New to Grow
Hello! I am Iris Caballero, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s most demanding challenges with compassion and resilience. I specialize in supporting dialysis patients through the complexities of chronic illness, drawing on my extensive experience in clinical and home-based therapy. My practice is also focused on providing a supportive space for those managing depression, anxiety, and work-related stress, where we work together to develop effective coping strategies and improve overall well-being.
Your first session is focused on creating a safe and comfortable space where your unique self is fully welcomed. We will use this time to discuss what brought you to therapy, review confidentiality, and begin collaboratively identifying your goals. While our initial sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, I am actively planning to open an in-person space to provide services in the future. This introductory session is designed to establish a solid therapeutic foundation and give you a clear sense of how we will work together.
My therapeutic approach is founded on the belief that a relaxing and non-judgmental environment is essential for growth. I aim to be a dedicated sounding board, allowing you the freedom to express your thoughts and feelings completely. By using a client-centered perspective, I focus on genuine empathic understanding and guiding you collaboratively toward achieving your personal goals. I also incorporate evidence-based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) when helpful, tailoring all interventions to your unique needs and strengths.
I specialize in serving clients who are committed to making measurable progress through a structured, goal-oriented approach. This work addresses maladaptive thought patterns, mood instability, and anxiety, focusing particularly on cognitive distortions like Catastrophizing or All-or-Nothing Thinking. Furthermore, I am uniquely positioned to support families of individuals with developmental disabilities, such as Autism, who are actively navigating the complexities of the Regional Center or IEP educational support process.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My clinical experience focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that treats the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I apply core techniques like Cognitive Restructuring, such as guiding clients to treat thoughts as hypotheses and addressing distortions like Catastrophizing, while integrating a Client-Centered approach for empathetic support.
