My name is Tiffany Spearman and I am a Board Certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management and behavioral therapy. Dealing with mental health issues can be a scary and challenging task. It becomes an even bigger challenge trying to find a provider that takes a progressive, yet holistic approach to managing your mental health. My focus is improving mental health and quality of life. My goal is to provide authentic and non-judgmental care, while keeping your best interest at the forefront.
My goal is to implement an approach that includes both wellness and healing. I use an evidenced based approach in treating a variety of mental health issues. Upon our first session, I will perform an in depth assessment, evaluating you, your priorities and treatment goals. I look forward to meeting you so we can heal together.
My greatest strength as a provider is that I am empathetic and a great listener. I have 6 years experience working with people who are suffering from mental health issues in the hospital setting, jail setting and home setting. Everyone has their own unique situations and I have the ability to truly understand and share the feelings of what my clients are going through.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and insomnia. I provide medication management and behavioral therapy.
Tiffany Spearman offers therapy covered by CalViva Health (Medi-Cal), Central California Alliance for Health (Medi-Cal), Community Health Plan of Imperial Valley (Medi-Cal), Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Health Net (Medi-Cal), Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal, L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
CBT is a highly structured, brief, solution-focused strategy I use to provide my clients a variety of techniques for them to have greater control over their thoughts, feelings, and actions in order to lessen symptoms and enhance their capacity to handle stressful situations. I have used CBT in clients suffering with anger issues, anxiety, depression, OCD and PTSD.
CBT-I is a treatment method I used specifically for patients suffering with insomnia. I utilize behavioral and cognitive interventions, in addition to mindfulness-based techniques to help improve sleep quality and quantity. I implement a sleep diary to gather baseline information on your current sleep patters in order to identify precipitating and perpetuating factors that cause and maintain the insomnia.
A lot of us struggle with overwhelming emotions. When we become angry, sad or scared, it can show up as huge, powerful wave that can sweep us off our feet. I implement dialectical behavior therapy to handle those emotions. This type of therapy teaches four important skills that help us to not only reduce the size of our emotional wave, but also to keep us balanced when those emotions overwhelm us.
I have been utilizing mindfulness therapy as the basis for all of my clients. Most, if not all, mental health disorders begin with the foundation of negative or dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviors. Mindfulness therapy allows my clients to develop a greater since of awareness of their thoughts, emotions, feelings and situations. Having increased awareness allows you to avoid destructive habits.
This treatment method is designed for those specifically reluctant to change. I have used this method for clients suffering with substance abuse and sexual behaviors. It helps clients find their motivation to make the positive change in their behavior.
