What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is to discover if we are a good fit - do we connect? Then we build a rapport. Some clients like to start off slow to test the waters especially if it is the first time coming to counseling, Some clients dive right the issue(s) that brought them to counseling. Whatever the client shares is acceptable and there is no pressure to share more than desired. This is your session and you command that time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I work for you & bring a vast amount of experience with me as previously mentioned in this above brief summary. *note that my practice focuses women over 40

My treatment methods

Psychoanalytic

Psychoanalytic therapy aims to uncover deep-seated patterns of thought and behavior, providing insight into past experiences and facilitating personal growth and healing

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a form of psychotherapy that blends mindfulness strategies with behavioral techniques to help individuals accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them. It emphasizes clarifying personal values and committing to actions that align with those values, aiming to enhance psychological flexibility and improve overall well-being

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Overall, CBT is a flexible and evidence-based approach that emphasizes practical skills, collaboration, and goal attainment, making it a highly valuable tool for addressing a wide range of psychological challenges. CBT helps to change unhelpful thought patterns, managing emotions, and modifying behaviors

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on the study of positive emotions, strengths, virtues, and factors that contribute to a fulfilling and flourishing life. Here are some key highlights of positive psychology: Focus on Strengths: Positive psychology emphasizes identifying and nurturing individual strengths rather than solely focusing on weaknesses or deficits. This strengths-based approach encourages individuals to recognize their unique talents and capabilities. Promotion of Well-Being: One of the primary goals of positive psychology is to enhance overall well-being and life satisfaction. This includes fostering positive emotions such as joy, gratitude, hope, and love, as well as promoting resilience in the face of adversity. Optimism and Resilience: Positive psychology explores the factors that contribute to optimism and resilience, which are crucial for coping with life's challenges. It examines how individuals can develop a positive outlook on life and bounce back from setbacks stronger than before. Mindfulness and Flow: Positive psychology often incorporates practices like mindfulness and flow, which involve being fully present and engaged in the current moment. These practices can enhance focus, creativity, and overall mental well-being. Cultivation of Positive Relationships: Positive psychology recognizes the importance of social connections and the impact of positive relationships on well-being. It explores how nurturing meaningful connections with others can lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. Meaning and Purpose: Positive psychology delves into questions of meaning and purpose in life, exploring how individuals can find greater meaning in their daily activities and contribute to something larger than themselves. Applications in Various Contexts: Positive psychology has practical applications in diverse areas such as education, healthcare, organizations, and therapy. It offers interventions and strategies that can be used to promote well-being and enhance performance in these contexts.
